WAKEFIELD, Mass. - The Hockey East Association is proud to announce that 145 male student-athletes have been named to the league's 2017-18 All-Academic Team. Each student-athlete achieved a grade point average of 3.0 or better in each of the two academic periods during which he was actively competing.

Five players, two from Merrimack College and one each from the University of Maine, the University of Massachusetts, and University of Vermont, earned the prestigious honor of being named Hockey East's Top Scholar-Athlete, compiling a perfect 4.0 GPA for the season. Those skaters include defenseman Johnathan Kovacevic (Grimsby, Ont./Merrimack) and forwards Griff Jeszka (Muskego, Wis./Massachusetts), Alfred Larsson (Malmo, Sweden/Merrimack), and forwards Jarrid Privitera (Old Tappan, N.J./ Vermont) and Cameron Spicer (Erie, Colo./Maine). Seventeen players reached "Distinguished Scholar" status in 2017-18, having qualified for the All-Academic team in each of four seasons of varsity play, while 12 others are three-time honorees.
