HOCKEY EAST HEADLINES

New Hampshire earned its second win over a Top 20 opponent this year, toppling #2 Massachusetts, 3-1, on Sunday afternoon. Sophomore Jackson Pierson (Zionsville, Ind.) assisted on two goals within a span of 13 seconds in the second period giving the Wildcats a 2-1 advantage. Max Gildon (Plano, Texas) scored the game-winning goal on the power play for the Wildcats. It was UNH's first win over a team ranked #2 since February 14, 2015, topping BU, 4-3.

#19 Boston College swept a home-and-home series against UConn, outscoring the Huskies 11-1. Aapeli Räsänen (Tampere, Finland) netted his first career hat trick in Saturday's 5-1 win in Hartford and added an assist for a career-high four points, while rookie netminder Spencer Knight (Darien, Conn.) stopped 46 of the 47 shots he faced, including a 30-save shutout on Friday at home.

#14 UMass Lowell earned a crucial three points from Maine at home, retaining the River Hawks' top spot in the Army ROTC Hockey East Standings. Carl Berglund (Hammaro, Sweden) collected a team-high three points (2g,1a) while Tyler Wall (Leamington, Ont.) went 1-0-1 on the week, stopping 68 of 71 shots for a .958 SV% and 1.44 GAA. He registered 30 saves in a 1-1 tie on Friday night and posted 38 saves in a 3-2 victory on Saturday against Maine. Wall has posted 30+ saves in eight of 11 starts this year, including each of the last five contests.

#11 Providence edged Boston University in a home-and-home series, taking a 1-0-1 mark over the Terriers. Jack Dugan (Rochester, N.Y.), the leading point-getter in the NCAA, added six assists to his ledger in the series. The sophomore now has five goals and 19 assists in 10 games this season. For the Terriers, junior blueliner David Farrance (Victor, N.Y./5g, 1a) and rookie forward Trevor Zegras (Bedford, N.Y./2g, 4a) collected six points across the two outings.

Merrimack earned a point in league play against #13 Northeastern, going 0-1-1 against the Huskies. Freshman defenseman Declan Carlile (Hartland, Mich.) played a hand in both of the Warriors' goals over the weekend. He notched an assist in an eventual 1-1 tie on Friday and then potted his second goal on his rookie campaign Saturday for Merrimack's lone tally in a 3-1 loss to the Huskies.

Northeastern's Tyler Madden (Deerfield Beach, Fla.) tallied a goal and two assists, all on the power-play, on Saturday in the Huskies' 3-1 win. Madden now leads the Huskies in points with 10 (6g, 4a).

Jack Dugan - Providence

Jack Dugan (Rochester, N.Y.) finished tied for the Hockey East lead with six points this weekend. The current NCAA scoring leader and reigning Hockey East Player of the Month posted six assists in two games against Boston University and has now totaled five goals and 19 assists in his 10 games of the year.

Trevor Zegras - Boston University

Trevor Zegras (Bedford, N.Y.) turned in a pair of three-point performances against #11 Providence. Had a hand in all three BU goals on Friday, scoring once and adding two assists. He then matched the feat on Saturday with a goal and two helpers at Providence.

Tyler Wall - UMass Lowell

Tyler Wall (Leamington, Ont.) picks up his third consecutive Defensive Player of the Week award as the senior netminder went 1-0-1 on the week for the River Hawks. He stopped 68 of 71 shots for a .958 SV% and 1.44 GAA. He registered 30 saves in a 1-1 tie on Friday night and posted 38 saves in a 3-2 victory on Saturday against Maine. Has posted 30+ saves in eight of 11 starts this year, including each of the last five contests.

Aapeli Räsänen, BC (Jr., F, Tampere, Finland) Netted his first career hat trick in Saturday's 5-1 win at UConn in Hartford. He added an assist for a career-high four points. The junior finished the home-and-home sweep of the Huskies with a plus-four rating and three blocked shots.

Alex Newhook, BC (Fr., F; St. John's, Newfoundland) Posted his first career multi-goal game with a pair of tallies in Friday's 6-0 shutout of UConn at Kelley Rink. He then collected his first two collegiate assists in a 5-1 road victory over the Huskies on Saturday in Hartford to close the series with four points and a plus-four rating.

Spencer Knight, BC (Fr., G; Darien, Conn.) Stopped 46 of the 47 shots he faced in a home-and-home sweep of UConn for a .979 save percentage. He posted a 30-save shutout on Friday at home, his second shutout in eight starts, and made 16 saves in a 5-1 road win on Saturday.

David Farrance, BU (Jr., D; Victor, N.Y.) Had the most productive weekend of his career, scoring five goals, including his first collegiate hat trick, in a home-and-home series with #11 Providence. He erased a 3-1 deficit with two third-period power- play goals in a 3-3 draw on Friday before recording three goals and an assist for a career-best four points in a 6-5 loss on Saturday.

Carl Berglund, UML (Fr., F; Hammaro, Sweden) Collected a team-high three points (2g,1a) in a three-point weekend against Maine to help UMass Lowell retain first place in the Army ROTC Hockey East Standings. He recorded a goal in each game, which included two points in the 3-2 win on Saturday night at the Tsongas Center.

Declan Carlile, MC (Fr., D; Hartland, Mich.) The first-year blue liner played a hand in both of the Warriors' goals over the weekend. He notched an assist on Tyler Irvine's first period goal Friday in an eventual 1-1 tie against #13 Northeastern. Then, he potted his second goal on his rookie campaign Saturday for Merrimack's lone tally in a 3-1 loss to the Huskies.

Jackson Pierson, UNH (So., F; Zionsville, Ind.) Assisted on two goals within a span of 13 seconds of the second period on Sunday against #2 UMass, giving the Wildcats a 2-1 advantage in an eventual 3-1 victory over the Minutemen.

Mike Robinson, UNH (Jr., G; Bedford, N.H.) Stopped 27 of 28 shots in a 3-1 win over #2 UMass on Sunday. He has now allowed just three goals in his last three starts

Tyler Madden, NU (So., F; Deerfield Beach, Fla.) Tallied a goal and two assists, all on the power-play, on Saturday in the Huskies' 3-1 conference win over Merrimack. Madden now leads the Huskies in points with 10 (6g, 4a).

Aidan McDonough, NU (Fr., F; Milton, Mass.) Scored two second-period power-play goals to help lift Northeastern to a 3-1 victory on Friday at home against Merrimack. The two-goal performance marked the freshman's first multi-point game of his career.

Ryan Shea, NU (Sr., D; Milton, Mass.) Named the First Star of the game on Saturday night, Shea dished out an assist on each of Northeastern's three goals against Merrimack. With his team-leading three assists on the night, the senior tied for first in points in the conference match up and posted a season-high in helpers

Max Crozier, PC (Fr., D; Calgary, Alta.) Crozier recorded the first two goals of his collegiate career, including the game-winner against the Terriers on Saturday. He also added an assist in the game.
