DURHAM, N.H. - Seniors Amy Schlagel (Blaine, Minn) and Julia Fedeski (Algonquin Heights, Ontario) each scored a power play goal as the University of New Hampshire Wildcats defeated the Nepean Junior Wildcats in an exhibition on Friday evening.
All three New Hampshire goaltenders saw action in the game as freshman Ava Boutilier (Charlottestown, Prince Edward Island) started the game for the Wildcats, and was eventually relieved by junior Hilary Cashin (Fredericton, New Brunswick) at the start of the second period. Junior goaltender Kyra Smith (Littleton, Colo.) started the third period for the Wildcats and made six saves in the victory.
The Nepean Junior Wildcats scored first on a goal by Tatem Cheney, assisted by Abygail Moloughney three minutes and 13 seconds into the first period.

GAME RECAP
- The Nepean Junior Wildcats got out to an early lead as a shot by Moloughney was saved by Boutilier, but the rebound found the stick of Cheney who was able to knock it in.
- UNH tried to answer back on two first-period power plays, yielding a total of four power play shots, but no goals.
- The second period saw 20 UNH shots, and two more UNH power plays, one resulting in the game-tying goal by Fedeski.
- With a body-checking penalty on Nepean, New Hampshire tied the game six seconds into the power play, as Fedeski scored assisted by Tori Howran (Bancroft, Ontario) and Carlee Turner (Scottsdale, Ariz.).
- Cashin made five saves in the second period, keeping the game level at 1-1.
- The Wildcats got two more power play in the third period, and once again they scored less than a minute into the power play. Schlagel got the feed from freshman Grace Middleton (Midland, Mich.) and sophomore Taylor Wenczkowski (Rochester, N.H.) just 18 seconds into the elbowing penalty to Nepean.
- Smith entered the game at the start of the third period, and stopped all six shots she faced to secure the victory for UNH.
