DURHAM, N.H. - Sophomore forward Taylor Wenczkowski (Rochester, N.H.) scores the lone Wildcat goal as the University of New Hampshire women's hockey team falls to Boston University, 2-1, on Senior day at the Whittemore Center.
Wenczkowski scored an extra-attacker goal with the goaltender pulled late in the third period with the Wildcats down by two goals. The goal prevented the shutout and put the 'Cats in a potential point-getting position, but they couldn't get the tying goal in the final two minutes.
At 23 points, the Wildcats sit behind Northeastern in fifth place in Hockey East. With both teams in action tomorrow, the final home ice position for the quarterfinal round is still up in the air.

GAME RECAP
- The Terriers hopped on board first with a wrist-shot goal from Rebecca Leslie with 3:19 left in the first frame. Leslie grabbed a pass from Abby Cook leaving their defensive zone, wrapped around the New Hampshire net and sent the puck past Boutilier from the edge of her left-side face off circle. Mary Grace Kelley also had an assist on the goal.
- Despite numerous attempts and five combined power play opportunities, the second period saw no change in score.
- Just two seconds into a power play, Leslie netted her second goal of the afternoon from the right face off dot with 10:16 remaining in the third frame. Victoria Bach tallied an assist and Cook grabbed her second.
- With just 2:33 remaining in the game, Wenczkowski put the 'Cats on the board from a backhand shot to Schroeder's left side with the momentum of an extra skater. Sophomore Carlee Turner (Scottsdale, Ariz.) and senior Carlee Toews (Grand Prairie, Alberta) both had assists on the goal.
