Junior defenseman Jordan Harris and freshman forward Steven Agriogianis each had two goals and an assist for the Huskies

BOSTON - Jordan Harris and Steven Agriogianis each tallied two goals and an assist, plus Zach Solow added a goal and two assists to lead No. 14 Northeastern (1-0-0,1-0-0 HEA) to an 8-2 win over Merrimack (1-2-0, 0-1-0 HEA) on Saturday evening in Matthews Arena. It was the most goals the Huskies have scored in a season opener since they had nine goals to beat Prince Edward Island to start the 2017-18 season.

For Agriogianis, those were his first career points. Tyler Spott also had his first career goal and point, while Neil Shea and Riley Hughes added goals for the Huskies. Grant Jozefek and TJ Walsh each added two assists on the night. Connor Murphy stopped 20 saves on the way to his first career win. Northeastern ended the night going four of eight on the power play while scoring half of those during their four goal second period.

The Huskies take on the Warriors in the second game of the weekend home-and-home series tomorrow at 4pm at Lawler Rink and the game can be heard on 98.5 The Sports Hub HD2.
