HOCKEY EAST HEADLINES

#3 Northeastern claimed its first Beanpot since 2013 on Tuesday night. Lauren McInnis (St. Louis, Mo.) scored in double overtime to list the Huskies over the host #9 Boston University in a game that officially ended in a 3-3 draw. Chloe Aurard (Villard-De-Lans, France) was named tournament MVP after scoring two goals and adding an assist in the contest.

#9 Boston University secured the number two seed in the Hockey East Tournament with a weekend sweep of league-foe New Hampshire, including a 2-0 win on Sunday backboned by sophomore Kate Stuart (Chilliwack, B.C.), who made 17 saves to earn her first collegiate shutout.

UConn and Merrimack split a weekend series, keeping UConn alive for a chance to host the Hockey East Tournament quarterfinals. UConn junior forward Natalie Snodgrass (Eagan, Minn.) scored three goals, including two in Friday's 6-1 victory. Her three tallies tied for the most of any player in the league last week. Briana Colangelo (Whitby, Ont.) dished out two assists on Friday night, her 100st and 101st career points. She is just the fourth Husky in program history to eclipse the 100 career point milestone.

Providence earned a weekend split with #3 Northeastern and remains in contention for a hosting bid in the Hockey East Tournament quarterfinals. In a 2-1 win at Northeastern on Friday, freshman defenseman Lauren DeBlois (Lewiston, Maine) found the back of the net twice, including at 3:57 of overtime to deliver the victory for the Friars.

Holy Cross swept Vermont in a weekend series, including a 2-0 shutout on Sunday. Junior netminder Julia Pelletier (Pelham, N.H.) stopped all 29 shots she faced in the outing to pick up her first career Division I shutout in Hockey East play.

No player in men's or women's NCAA hockey had more saves last week than Boston College sophomore Kelly Pickreign (Harvard, Mass.) Her 96 saves were tops among all collegiate goaltenders in a 2-1-0 on the week, including a career-high 36 saves against Harvard and back-to-back 30-save outings at Maine.

Northeastern has secured the top seed in the Hockey East Tournament, and will host Vermont in the quarterfinals. Boston University has secured the number two seed and will also play host to either Maine or New Hampshire.

Delaney Belinskas - Boston College

Delaney Belinskas (Port Orange, Fla.) scored three goals for the Eagles in a 2-1-0 week, including two game-winning tallies for her team. She netted the decisive marker against #10 Harvard on Tuesday in the Beanpot and found the back of the net in overtime at Maine on Friday. She also led the conference with 18 shots on goal. Her two-tally outing in Friday's 3-2 win moved the Eagles' one step closer to clinching a top-four seed in the Hockey East Tournament.

Lauren DeBlois - Providence

Lauren DeBlois (Lewiston, Maine) proved to be the overtime hero for the Friars in a 2-1 victory at #3 Northeastern on Friday night. After scoring to tie the game with a power-play goal at 16:04 of the second period, the defenseman punctuated her first career two-goal game with the game-winning tally at 3:57 of the extra frame.

Julia Pelletier - Holy Cross

Julia Pelletier (Pelham, N.H.) stopped all 29 shots she faced on Sunday to backbone Holy Cross to a 2-0 win over Vermont. The shutout was the first of Pelletier's career in Hockey East play since the Crusaders joined the Division I league in 2018-19. With the victory, Pelletier delivered Holy Cross its second season sweep of the year, as the Crusaders toppled the Catamounts, 2-1, on Saturday and swept Merrimack, 3-0-0, earlier this year.


HOCKEY EAST TOP PERFORMERS

Hadley Hartmetz, BC (Fr., D; Phoenixville, Pa.) Dished out three assists in a 2-1-0 week for BC, adding two shots and five blocks. She set up the game-winning goal against Maine on Friday as part of a two-assist game.

Kelly Pickreign, BC (So., G; Harvard, Mass.) Went 2-1-0 on the week, backstopping the Eagles to wins over #10 Harvard and Maine. She made a league-high 96 saves over the week and finished with a league-best two wins. The sophomore made at least 30 saves in each game played, including a career-high 36 against Harvard and 30 stops in an OT win over Maine on Friday and an OT loss on Saturday.

Sammy Davis, BU (RS-Sr., F; Pembroke, Mass.) Led Hockey East with four points (2g, 2a) over three games. Davis began the week by scoring the game-tying goal with 22.8 seconds remaining in regulation against #3 Northeastern on Tuesday as part of a two-point night. She then had the primary assist on Saturday's game-winning goal at UNH before securing the final goal in Sunday's triumph over the Wildcats.

Corinne Schroeder, BU (Jr., G; Elm Creek, Man.) Made 33 saves to earn her fourth shutout of the season in a 1-0 win at New Hampshire on Saturday. That came after she stopped 27 shots in an official 3-3 tie with #3 Northeastern on Tuesday night. She finished the weekend with a .952 save percentage.

Kate Stuart, BU (So., G; Chilliwack, B.C.) Made 17 saves on Sunday to earn her first collegiate shutout in a 2-0 win over New Hampshire.

Natalie Snodgrass, UConn (Jr., F; Eagan, Minn.) Scored three goals for UConn as part of a weekend split with Merrimack, including netting two in Friday's 6-1 victory. Her three tallies tied for the most of any player in the league last week.

Ida Kuoppala, ME (Fr., F; Pedersore, Finland) Scored a goal and added an assist against Boston College on Friday's 3-2 loss. She then scored her second goal of the weekend against the Eagles on Saturday, a 2-1 overtime victory. The rookie currently holds a nine-game point streak (9g, 5a.)

Carly Jackson, ME (Sr., G; Amherst, N.S.) Picked up 38 saves in a 3-2 overtime loss on Friday against Boston College. She then won her senior game start against the Eagles, 2-1, in overtime and made 35 saves in her final appearance at Alfond Arena.

Ava Boutilier, UNH (R-So., G; Charlottetown, P.E.I.) Despite a 0-2-0 weekend, she stopped 69 of 71 shots she faced for a save percentage of .971 with only two goals allowed and only one at even strength.

Chloe Aurard, NU (So., F; Villard-De-Lans, France) Tied for the league lead with four points in three games during a 2-1-0 week for the Huskies. Aurard was named MVP of the Beanpot after posting two goals and one assist in the title contest on Tuesday against Boston University.

Katy Knoll, NU (Fr., F; Amherst, N.Y.) Led all Hockey East players with three goals and paced all rookies with four points through three games last week. She netted the game-winning goal as part of a three-point night (1g, 2a) against Providence on Saturday. Her three goals were the most of any rookie in the nation last week while her four points tied for the second-most of any NCAA freshman.
