Vermont hosts #3 Northeastern this weekend for a two-game series.

#3 Northeastern at Vermont

- #3 Northeastern travels to Burlington to take on Vermont in a two-game series. The two squads played the last conference game of 2019 when they met in Boston on Dec. 30. The Huskies secured a 4-2 win over the Catamounts after eight players from Northeastern recorded points. Sophomore forward Alina Mueller (Winterthur, Switzerland) lead the team with two goals, including the game-winning tally.

- Last weekend the Huskies continued their four-game shutout streak as they swept UConn, 4-0 and 3-0, in a home-and-home series. Both junior Aerin Frankel (Briarcliff Manor, N.Y.) and freshman Gwyenth Philips (Athens, Ohio) recorded a one shutout each and notched a combined 56 saves. Frankel is now on a three-game personal shutout streak.

- Northeastern hasn't allowed a goal to a Hockey East opponent since Dec. 30 against Vermont. Catamount sophomore forward Corinne McCool (West Roxbury, Mass.) and sophomore defenseman Maude Poulin-Labelle (Sherbrooke, Qué.) each found the back of the net in that game.

- Vermont earned one league point and a 0-1-1 record in a two-game set at Boston College last weekend. A high-scoring game one saw Vermont take a 5-3 lead at one point, but the Catamounts were unable to hold off a furious Eagles comeback in the third frame, and fell 7-5.

- In game two, Vermont came back from a two-goal deficit to take a 2-2 overtime draw. Sophomore forward Theresa Schafzahl (Weiz, Austria) scored her fourth goal this month and is currently on a five-game point streak (4g, 4a).


#7 Boston University vs. Merrimack (home-and-home)

- #7 Boston University and Merrimack meet for a home-and-home series. The two teams battled it out on Oct. 11 to open the regular season match up that resulted in a 2-2 draw. Down by one goal early in the first, Merrimack took over the lead against then-#10 BU with two assists in the first frame from sophomore forward Keisha DiCaire (Ottawa, Ont.). The Terriers found the back of the net to tie it in the second but Warriors' senior goaltender Lea-Kristine Demers (Repentigny, Qué.) held them off making 33 saves to preserve the tie.

- In the Terriers' most recent outing, Boston University Head Coach Brian Durocher locked in his 300th career win over his 15 seasons leading the Terriers. Win 300 and 301 both came from 4-1 triumphs over Holy Cross' Head Coach Katie Lachapelle, a former BU assistant coach of nine seasons.

- In game one, sophomore forward Mackenna Parker (Clavet, Sask.) and senior forward Deziray De Sousa (Montreal, Qué.) both potted two goals while in game two, 10 different Terriers recorded a point.


Providence vs. Boston College (home-and-home)

- A home-and-home battle between Providence and Boston College will mark the Eagles' second to last such series of the season. The two teams met in Boston on Nov. 2 that led then-#7 BC past Providence marked the last victory of a 10-game unbeaten streak to start the Eagles' their season. The second period proved to be the game-winning frame for the Katie Crowley's team when senior forward Delaney Belinskas (Port Orange, Fla.) scored two of the four goals in the period to pace a 5-2 win.

- In Boston College's most recent series against Vermont, Belinskas recorded and NCAA-best six points (5g, 1a). She notched a hat trick in game one (W, 7-5) and both of the Eagles' goals in game two (T, 2-2 (OT)) to earn Hockey East of Player of the Week and NCAA First Star of the Week.

- BC's three-point weekend snapped a seven-game winless streak.

- Providence is coming off a weekend sweep in New Hampshire when they downed the Wildcats twice on the road to close out their regular season series (2-1-0). Friars sophomore goaltender Sandra Abstreiter (Freising, Germany) was named Hockey East Defensive Player of the Week after she made 64 saves over the two-game series (W, 3-1; W, 2-1) posting a .970 save percentage. Sophomore forward Sara Hjalmarsson (Bankeryd, Sweden) scored in both contests, including a game-winner on Friday, her third decisive tally of the year.


Maine at UConn

- Maine travels the length of New England to face UConn for two games as Black Bears put their five-game unbeaten streak on the line. Maine has not lost since Jan. 4, and has at least one point in each contest since securing a 2-2 tie at Boston University on Jan. 5.

- The last time Maine and UConn met was Nov. 7 in Orono, a 3-2 Husky victory that saw UConn get two-point outings (1g, 1a) from both junior forward Natalie Snodgrass (Eagan, Minn.) and senior forward Catherine Crawley (Washingtonville, N.Y.)

- In their most recent contests, Maine locked in three points in a home weekend series against Merrimack. Game one was a 1-1 overtime draw after sophomore forward Celine Tedenby (Örnsköldsvik, Sweden) tied the game early in the second. In game two's 2-1 victory, Pro Ambitions Rookie of the Week Ida Kuoppala (Peddersore, Finland) scored two unanswered goals against the Warriors in the third period, including a short-handed game winner.


Holy Cross vs New Hampshire (home-and-home)

- Holy Cross and New Hampshire both enter a home-and-home series hungry for a win after both falling in two games last weekend.

- In their last match up, the Wildcats toppled the Crusaders, 3-0, on Nov. 3. Three UNH senior forwards, Nicole Dunbar (Coto de Caza, Calif.), Meghara McManus (Milton, Mass.), and Taylor Wenczkowski (Rochester, N.H.), each found the back of the net.
