Knoll Earns Best Rookie Honors; Schroeder Is Top Goaltender for Second Time

HOCKEY EAST PLAYER OF THE MONTH

Corinne McCool - Vermont
Sophomore Forward; West Roxbury, Mass.

McCool tied for the league lead with three goals in December, finding the back of the net in each of the three games the Catamounts played in the final month of 2019. Two of her tallies proved to be game-winning goals, leading her squad to a weekend sweep at Maine. She added one assist for four points in the month, tied for third among all players in Hockey East. The sophomore forward was named Hockey East Player of the Week on Dec. 9 after potting the two decisive tallies.

PRO AMBITIONS ROOKIE OF THE MONTH

Katy Knoll - Northeastern
Forward; Amherst, New York

Knoll earns her second consecutive Pro Ambitions Rookie of the Month title after tying for the lead among all Hockey East freshman during December with three points off one goal and two assists. Knoll's two assists were on both of the game-winning goals for the Huskies. Knoll led all Hockey East freshman with a plus-six rating and is currently riding a three-game point streak. Knoll also picked up back-toback Pro Ambitions Rookie of the Week titles on Nov. 25 and Dec. 2. Knoll currently leads all league rookies with a plus-18 rating for the year, while sitting second with 16 overall points.

HOCKEY EAST GOALTENDER OF THE MONTH

Corinne Schroeder - Boston University
Junior; Elm Creek, Manitoba

Schroeder won both of her starts in December, allowing just one goal in a weekend sweep of then-#8 Boston College. She led all NCAA goaltenders who made at least two December starts with a .979 save percentage, stopping 46 of the 47 shots she faced and not allowing an evenstrength marker. Schroeder made 21 saves for her second shutout of the season on Dec. 6 before making 25 saves in a 2-1 road win the next day. She picked up Hockey East Defensive Player of the Week accolades on Dec. 9.
