#3 Northeastern at Syracuse

- Northeastern continues its season-opening four-game road trip as the Huskies head to Syracuse for two games. This marks the first time the two teams will face off since the 2017- 18 season when the Huskies defeated the Orange, 5-1, in both games of a two game series.

- The defending Hockey East regular-season and tournament champions started 2019- 20 season with a 5-0 victory on the road at Union in the opening weekend of play. Junior goaltender Aerin Frankel (Briarcliff Manor, N.Y.) stopped all 16 shots faced in the contest, earning her 10th career shutout and Hockey East Defensive Player of the Week honors in the process.


#10 Boston University vs. Merrimack, at New Hampshire

- Boston University carries momentum from a season-opening victory at Union into a two-game set against Hockey East opponents. The Terriers play host to Merrimack on Friday before visiting New Hampshire on Saturday.

- The Terriers opened the year with a 2-1 road win at Union last Sunday. Senior Samantha Davis (Pembroke, Mass.) netted both BU goals in the victory.

- New Hampshire opens Hockey East play against UConn and Boston University after starting the year 1-1-1 in non-league action. Last weekend against St. Lawrence, the Wildcats fell, 4-1, in their first meeting, before playing to a 5-5 overtime draw.

- UNH sophomore defenseman Emily Rickwood (Brantford, Ont.) tallied the first two goals of her career on the weekend, each coming on the power play.


UConn vs. New Hampshire, at Holy Cross

- UConn begins its first slate of conference games after a weekend road sweep at Long Island University. The Huskies turned in a 4-0 shutout victory in the season opener, before defeating the Sharks, 6-1, in the second meeting.

- The Huskies face off against New Hampshire on Friday before traveling to Holy Cross for a Saturday evening match up. Last season, Chris MacKenzie's team went 2-1-0 against the Wildcats and swept their regular season series with the Crusaders, 3-0-0.

- Junior forward Natalie Snodgrass (Eagan, Minn.) paced the UConn offense with one goal and three assists on the weekend.

- The Crusaders are looking to pick up their first win in Hockey East play when they play host to UConn on Saturday after opening the year 0-2-2. Holy Cross was shutout, 6-0, by Boston College in their first conference match up of the year.


Vermont vs. St. Lawrence

- The Catamounts take to home ice to begin a four-game home stand as they play host to non-conference opponent St. Lawrence for two games in Burlington.

- In the opening weekend of the regular season, Vermont took a 1-0-1 record on the road at RIT. They defeated the Tigers, 3-1, on Friday, before playing to a 4-4 overtime draw Saturday.

- Corrine McCool (West Roxbury, Mass.) led the offensive charge on the weekend with a goal and an assist in each game. She netted the game winner on Friday before going on to score the game-tying goal half way through the third period to force the extra frame Saturday.


Maine vs. Quinnipiac

- Maine follows up a weekend sweep on the road at Sacred Heart with a two-game home stand against non-conference opponent Quinnipiac. The Black Bears swept the Bobcats last year in a two-game series, which included a 2-1 overtime victory and 3-0 shutout at Quinnipiac.

- Loryn Porter (North Bay, Ont.) and Carly Jackson (Amherst, N.S.) split goaltending duties at Sacred Heart, each recording a shutout during their stint in net. Porter kicked out 17 shots in the 4-0 win on Friday, while Jackson turned away all 16 shots she faced in Saturday's 7-0 victory.


Providence at Bemidji State

- The Friars head west for another weekend of non-conference action, squaring off with Bemidji State for two games. The two programs last met at the start of last season as Matt Kelly's squad took the each of the two tilts on home ice at Schneider Arena.

- Providence began the 2019-20 season by splitting a home and home series with Quinnipiac. The Friars dropped the first game on home ice, 2-1, before topping the Bobcats, 3-2, in a come-from-behind victory.

- Freshman Bailey Burton (Bloomington, Minn.) was named Pro Ambitions Rookie of the Week after netting her first two career goals against Quinnipiac. The forward tallied Providence's lone goal in Friday's setback, before going on to net the game-winning strike with just over one minute to go in regulation on Saturday.
