Sophomore forward Brooke Campbell scored the game-winning goal for the Huskies

STORRS, Conn. - The No. 12 ranked UConn women's ice hockey team took the 2-1 win against Brown at home Tuesday night. Sophomore forward Brooke Campbell notched her seventh goal of the season for the go-ahead victory.

In the first, both teams shared a controlled defensive line as UConn led in shots on target early on with just three, but Brown struck first in eight minutes of play. The Huskies continued to work their way at the goal firing 10 shots to the Bears' eight. UConn would head to the penalty kill right before the first period buzzer sounded and the score would stay at 1-0 Brown after the first.

The Huskies would kill the penalty to start out the second period. Then, UConn would get the power play on a holding penalty and executed. Claire Peterson knocked it over to Jada Habisch to then send it over to junior forward Riley Grimley. Grimley positioned herself right in front of the goal and ripped the puck stick side into the bottom left corner of the net. Then, with two minutes to go in the period, the Huskies nailed the back of the net once more. Emma Eryou passed it off to Coryn Tormala to then find the open Brooke Campbell as Campbell sent one glove side right to the top right corner of the net. The score stayed at 2-1 UConn after the second.

UConn began the period with a power play on a tripping call, but Brown killed the penalty. The Huskies stacked up on shots on target getting up to 35 shots. They would end the period with 38 shots and would stay at 2-1 for the final score.
