PROVIDENCE, R.I. - The Boston College women's hockey team came out swinging a a 5-1 victory over Providence.

The Eagles opened up the scoring 14 minutes into the first period with a goal from Sammy Smigliani her sixth of the season. After Smigliani's goal, the Eagles did not let off the gas. Caroline Goffredo and Gaby Roy both chipped in goals in the second period.

Heading into the third period, Boston College led by three. Smigliani and Goffredo found the back of the net to make it 5-0 nine minutes into the final period. The Friars put their lone goal away with 10 minutes left in the game.

GAME NOTES

- BC only had 25 shots while the Friars saw 34 in tonight's game.

- Caroline Goffredo led the team in points tonight, she scored twice and was able to dish out two assists.

- Freshman Molly Jordan led the game in blocked shots, she was able to get in front of four shots.

- This game saw five penalties in total. Neither team was able to convert on their power play attempts.

- Grace Campbell had an outstanding game, saving 33 shots she saw.
