HARTFORD, Conn. - The UConn men's hockey team exploded for six goals to defeat Dartmouth College by a final of 6-1 Saturday afternoon at the XL Center. Junior Chase Bradley scored two goals, while senior goaltender Ethan Haider made 22 saves in the victory.

UConn opened the scoring early as Hudson Schandor fired the puck in front of the net and Chase Bradley was able to push it past the goal line for his first goal of the day. The Huskies did not let up as they went on the attack on the ensuing puck drop, and their pressure paid off as freshman Jake Richard was able make a move on the goaltender and after being denied on the initial attempt, stayed with the puck and found the back of the net to give UConn the two-goal lead. The Huskies shut down the Big Green in the first period and entered the break leading by two.

In the second period, Dartmouth came out looking to cut into the UConn lead, but senior goaltender Ethan Haider remained strong in net, stopping all 10 shots faced to once again hold the Big Green scoreless in the period. UConn extended it's lead late in the second period as Andrew Lucas took the puck the length of the ice and dropped a pass off to Chase Bradley who fired the puck past Roan Clarke for his second goal of the day.

The offensive attack did not stop after the second period for the Huskies as they were able to score three goals in the final frame. The scoring started when sophomore Ryan Tattle collected the pass from freshman Joey Muldowney at center ice and after skating into the attacking zone, fired it past the Dartmouth netminder for his first collegiate goal. Shortly after, sophomore Jake Black found the back of the net to give UConn the 5-0 lead. Following a UConn penalty, Dartmouth was able to find the back of the net to cut into the UConn lead. With time running down in the period, Matthew Wood, skated through the Dartmouth defense before shooting a wrist shot over the pad of the Dartmouth goaltender to secure the 6-1 win for the Huskies.
