WORCESTER, Mass. - The UConn women's hockey team beat Holy Cross by a final of 3-1 Saturday evening to complete the weekend sweep and win their eighth game in a row. Jada Habisch, Camryn Wong, and Kyla Josifovic were the goal scorers for the Huskies, while junior goaltender Megan Warrener made 19 saves in the win.

Holy Cross opened the scoring Saturday evening when they forced a turnover in the UConn zone, and after one pass, Alexia Moreau netted a one timer past Megan Warrener to give the Crusaders the 1-0 lead. UConn was unable to find the equalizer in the first period as they entered the break trailing by one.

The second period was all UConn as the Huskies were able to find the tying goal and then take the lead. UConn tied the game at one, early in the second period when Jada Habsich collected the puck at center ice, and after beating her defender made one move to beat the goalie and tie the game. Shortly after, a turnover by the Crusaders gave the Huskies a two on one, where Riley Grimley made cross ice pass to Cam Wong for the tip in goal. Strong defense and goaltending by the Huskies kept Holy Cross off the scoreboard in the second period and the Huskies entered the final frame leading by one.

In the third period the Huskies found the insurance it needed to seal the victory when sophomore Kyla Josifovic fired a puck top shelf for the goal. With the two-goal lead, UConn was able to rely on their strong defense and goaltending to carry them the rest of the way. Junior goaltender Megan Warrener made 19 saves in the victory to remain undefeated and improve to 5-0 on the season.
