BOSTON- Junior Taze Thompson's game-winner delivered the No. 7/5 Northeastern women's hockey team a 4-1 victory over the Boston University Terriers on Friday night at Walter Brown Arena. The win marked the Huskies' first Hockey East victory of the season and improves their record to 4-1-0.

- Freshman Allie Lalonde opened the scoring for both sides in the first period with her second tally of the year. Lalonde took a pass from senior Abbey Marohn all the way in for a 1-0 NU lead.

- The Terriers evened things up at 1-1 two minutes later with a goal of their own to close the period with both sides tied.

- Thompson would not let the Huskies end the second frame without a lead, scoring her second goal in as many games to give Northeastern a 2-1 edge. With just 35 seconds remaining in the period, Thompson corralled a faceoff that junior Skylar Irving won to pot a power-play tally and eventual game-winner.

- In the final frame, Northeastern posted two more goals to bring the final score to 4-1. Graduate student Peyton Anderson recorded an empty net goal, with assists from fifth year Katy Knoll and senior Lily Yovetich. Sophomore Lily Shannon closed out the scoring with a goal with four seconds left, with helpers from sophomore Jules Constantinople and Marohn.

- Fifth year netminder Gwyneth Philips made 21 saves in her fourth victory of the season.

Northeastern and the Terriers will close out the home-and-home series at Matthews Arena on Saturday, Oct. 7 at 1:30 p.m. The Huskies will be hosting their pride game.
