MADISON, Wis. - Boston College women's hockey fell to No. 1 Wisconsin 5-3 on Thursday night at LaBahn Arena.

Boston College opened the scoring when Sidney Fess took the puck down the right side, and finished home a shot just above the Wisconsin goalie's right shoulder at the 1:39 mark of the period. Wisconsin answered quickly at the 2:57 mark when Lacey Eden netted a rebound inside the left post. The Badgers added a second goal just under a minute later off a goal from the crease by Sarah Wozniewicz at 3:56. Sammy Smigliani evened up the game at two when she took Julia Pellerin's pass, and finished home a shot from the slot at 5:18 of the period. The Eagles took a 3-2 lead at the 12:26 mark when Jade Arnone skated through multiple Badger defenders and beat the goalie just under the crossbar. The Badgers added two goals from Marianne Picard and Britta Curl in the second period to take a 4-3 lead into the third period. Wisconsin added a fifth goal to make it 5-3 when Chayla Edwards' shot deflected into the net at 15:34 of the final period.
