DURHAM, N.H. - Junior forward and captain Kira Juodikis (LaSalle, Ontario) recorded two goals and an assist in the University of New Hampshire women's ice hockey team's 4-2 win against Saint Michael's College at the Whittemore Center at Key Auto Group Complex on Sunday afternoon.

Senior Chavonne Truter (Uxbridge, Ontario) and senior captain Charli Kettyle (Perth, Ontario) tallied their first goals of the season while goaltender Sedona Blair (Eden Prairie, Minn.) had 11 saves.

Mikaela Langbacka recorded a goal and an assist for the Purple Knights. Emmersynn McGillis scored the other SMC goal. Annika Lavender was credited with 53 saves, including 20 in the second period.

UNH is 2-0-0 and Saint Michael's is 0-2-0.

FIRST PERIOD

- McGillis scored a 5-on-3 power-play goal at 1:18 with the assistance of Lauren Fisher and Langbacka.

- Juodikis scored the first goal for the Wildcats at 12:36 to tie the score 1-1. Sydney Leonard (St. Bonifacius, Minn.) won the faceoff in the left circle back to Kyla Bent (Halifax, Nova Scotia), who snapped a shot that was redirected by Juodikis in the slot into the net.


SECOND PERIOD

- UNH took a 2-1 lead at 2:03 when Truter's shot from the left doorstep went into the top-right corner. The goal was assisted by Tamara Thiérus (Saint-Jérôme, Quebec), who advanced the puck to Truter on the right wing, and Shea Verrier (Reading, Mass.), who made the outlet pass from the defensive zone.

- Kettyle scored off a rebound at 3:51 to extend the advantage to 3-1. Kettyle started the sequence with a rush down the right wing and a shot from close range that was stopped by Lavender. Juodikis corralled the puck in the slot and her shot was also turned aside by Lavender. Kettyle collected the rebound at the left side of the net and lifted a shot into the cage.

- Langbacka scored for the Purple Knights at 15:31 on a shot from the right point to trim the deficit to 3-2.


THIRD PERIOD

- Lavender was pulled in favor of an extra skater with 40 seconds remaining.

- Juodikis scored the last goal of the game into an empty net at 19:48. She collected a loose puck along the boards in the defensive zone, muscled past a defender at the blue line and, as she was falling to the ice, sent a shot out of the reach of a pair of SMC skaters into the open net.


GAME NOTEBOOK

- The Wildcats outshot the Purple Knights, 57-13, and had a 40-11 edge in the faceoff circle.

- UNH blocked eight shots and Saint Michael's recorded 13 blocks.

- SMC went 1-for-4 on the power play and UNH was 0 of 3.


UNH NOTEBOOK

- Juodikis has scored two goals in both games this season; she leads the team in both goals (four) and points (five).

- Bent, Leonard and Verrier recorded an assist in both games this weekend and are tied for the team lead in assists with two.

- Leonard won 16 of 19 faceoffs while Nicole Kelly (Brantford, Ontario) was 9-for-11 in the faceoff circle.

- Rae Breton (Brighton, Ontario) led all skaters with four blocked shots.
