BOSTON- The No. 5 Northeastern women's hockey team fell to the No. 11 Penn State Nittany Lions, 2-1, on Sunday afternoon at Matthews Arena. The Huskies split the weekend with the visiting Nittany Lions.

- Sophomore Lily Shannon potted the game's first goal with just under two minutes to play in the first frame. Shannon's first goal of the season had helpers from sophomore Kristina Allard and senior Abbey Marohn.

- The second fame was a scoreless affair for both sides, as Northeastern held the 12-9 edge in shots.

- Penn State's offense came alive in the final frame, scoring twice to secure a 2-1 come-from-behind victory over the Huskies.

- Fifth year goaltender Gwyneth Philips posted 37 saves in her first loss of the season. Sophomore Jules Constantinople led all players with five blocks.

The Huskies will next hit the road for the first time at LIU for a two-game series beginning on Friday, Sept. 29 at 7:45 p.m.
