#4 Boston College vs. #10 Massachusetts

- #4 Boston College and #10 Massachusetts begin a home-and-home series on Friday night at Conte Forum as the Eagles and Minutemen begin long stretches of conference play. The last time the two programs met was in the 2019 Hockey East Semifinal last year, where Boston College shut out UMass, 3-0, to become the first seven-seed to advance to the Hockey East Championship in tournament history.

- The Minutemen return home from a hard-fought weekend at the University of Denver, in a rematch of the 2019 Frozen Four semifinal, suffering a pair of losses, 4-2 and 4-3.

- Boston College had one contest this past weekend, earning two points over Vermont in an 8-3 victory. Senior Ron Greco (Philadelphia, Pa.), was named Hockey East Co-Player of the Week after posting a hat-trick to help the Eagles topple the Catamounts on Saturday afternoon


#12 Providence at AIC, vs. UConn

- #12 Providence starts its weekend early with a Thursday night match up at AIC. The Friars then return home to host UConn on Saturday night. It will be the third time the Friars and Huskies square off as in November Providence earned a 5-2 victory after skating to a 3-3 tie the previous night.

- On Tuesday, UConn fell to Merrimack, 6-2, in Hartford. Netminder Tomas Vomacka (Trutnov, Czech Republic) recorded 25 saves, and Justin Howell (Saint Paul, Minn.) and Marc Gatcomb (Woburn, Mass.) scored one goal each for the Huskies.

- Providence returns home after being crowned champion of the Fortress Invitational in Las Vegas, Nevada. Sophomore standout Jack Dugan (Rochester, N.Y.), netted the shootout-winning goal to name the Friars tournament champs after the game with #2 Cornell ending in an official 2-2 draw.


Vermont vs. Dartmouth

- Vermont hosts Dartmouth on Friday night in their lone contest of the weekend. The Catamounts last season defeated the Big Green, 5-3, on Dartmouth's home ice.

- Tuesday night the Catamounts battled another ECAC opponent as they welcomed Yale to Gutterson Fieldhouse, falling, 3-2, in overtime. Senior Derek Lodermeier (Brooklyn Center, Minn.) tallied a goal and an assist for the 'Cats.


#11 Northeastern at New Hampshire

- The #11 Huskies will head to New Hampshire for a Saturday night face-off at the Whittemore Center. The last time the 'Cats met the Huskies was overseas in the semifinals of the Friendship Four in Belfast, Northern Ireland. Northeastern took the win here, shutting out New Hampshire, 4-0.

- The Wildcats had a two-game, two-win weekend last week as ECAC opponents Yale and Brown visited Durham. Friday night saw a 4-1 win over the Bulldogs and Saturday resulted in a 5-1 victory over Brown.

- Angus Crookshank (North Vancouver, B.C.) started off the new year with a bang, recording the fastest goal in UNH program history, just nine seconds into the contest.

- In Saturday night's win, forwards Eric McAdams (Salem, Mass.) and Patrick Grasso (Ankeny, Iowa) scored two goals each to push New Hampshire past Brown. Sophomore, Eric Esposito (West Haven, Conn.), also added a goal to the mix here. Both he and McAdams extend their point streaks to five games.

- Northeastern took two conference points at UConn last Friday night, where junior Zach Solow (Naples, Fla.), tallied two goals for the Huskies.

- Most recently, the Huskies defeated Atlantic Hockey foe Bentley University, 4-2. The Monday night match up was tied 2-2 until late in the third before Matt Filipe (Lynnfield, Mass.) and Solow struck to secure the win.


#13 UMass Lowell at RIT

- #13 UMass Lowell travels to Rochester for a back-to-back non-league weekend at RIT where head coach Norm Bazin has a chance to win his 200th contest behind the River Hawks bench, sitting at 198 career victories.

- Last October, the River Hawks split a two-game series with the Tigers, winning, 2-1, in the first game and falling, 5-4, in an overtime battle in the second.

- Last Saturday, Lowell defeated Merrimack at Lawler Arena, 3-1, earning two conference points from the Warriors. Pro Ambitions Rookie of the Week Andre Lee (Karlstad, Sweden) led the way with a goal and an assist in the victory.


Boston University at Dartmouth

- A trip to Hanover is on tap for Boston University this Saturday night as they take on Dartmouth. The last time these squads saw each other was last December, where BU earned a 4-1 win at Agganis Arena.

- BU hosted Brown for a non-league match up on Wednesday night where they took a 3-2 overtime win in their first official game of 2020. In his very first collegiate appearance, rookie Wilmer Skoog (Tyreso, Sweden) found the back of the net 2:39 into the overtime period to end the contest.

- Trevor Zegras (Bedford, N.Y.) and David Farrance (Victor, N.Y.) contributed the other two goals for Boston University.


Maine vs. USA U-18

- Maine will host the U.S. National Under-18 Team on Saturday for an exhibition contest for the first time since 2017.

- It was an productive non-league weekend for Maine as the Black Bears hosted Omaha at Alfond Arena and at Cross Insurance Arena in Portland, Maine for a Saturday noon-time matinee.

- Friday night's 2-2 overtime draw was a 41-save outing for Jeremy Swayman (Anchorage, Alaska) while Tim Doherty (Portsmouth, R.I.) netted both goals on the night. This awarded him with Hockey East Co- Player of the Week.

- Doherty then helped Maine to a 3-2 Saturday win, setting up the game-winning goal with just 2:44 left in the third period to Eduards Tralmaks (Riga, Latvia) and earned Hockey East Co-Player of the Week for his efforts.
