HOCKEY EAST HEADLINES

Massachusetts capped its first half of the year with a 4-0 win at Brown. Sophomore netminder Filip Lindberg (Espoo, Finland) stopped all 27 shots he faced for his second shutout of the season and fifth of his career, tying him with teammate Matt Murray (St. Albert, Alta.) for the program's career shutout mark. Oliver Chau (Oakville, Ont.) scored twice in the win, extending his four-game point streak and now has nine points (4g, 5a) in his last nine contests.

Northeastern downed Dartmouth, 6-4, to earn its sixth win over the Huskies' last seven outings dating back to Nov. 16. Freshman Aidan Mc- Donough (Milton, Mass.) posted a career-best four points on two goals and two assists and he now ranks second in the league and third in the nation in power-play goals (7).

With a 2-2-0 out of conference record last week, Hockey East is now 41-25-8 in non-league games in 2019-20, good for a .608 winning percentage. League teams will compete in 28 out of conference tilts before Jan. 11 when conference play begins to dominate the schedule.

Oliver Chau - Massachusetts

Oliver Chau (Oakville, Ont.) scored twice in the second period to propel UMass to a 4-0 win at Brown on Tuesday. The tallies were Chau's third and fourth of the season as he now has six points (3g, 3a) in his last four games, for a four-game point streak, and nine points (4g, 5a) in his last nine contests.

Aidan McDonough - Northeastern

Aidan McDonough (Milton, Mass.) posted a career and team-best four points on Saturday night, tallying two goals and two assists in a 6-3 win over Dartmouth. Both of McDonough's goals came on the power play, giving him a team-high seven extra-man goals. He now ranks second in the league and third in the nation in power-play goals and third in the conference and tied for seventh in the nation in power-play points.

Filip Lindberg - Massachusetts

Filip Lindberg (Espoo, Finland) stopped all 27 shots he faced in a 4-0 win at Brown last Tuesday. The shutout marked Lindberg's second of the season and fifth of his career, tying him with teammate Matt Murray for the program's career shutout mark. Lindberg is now 5-3-1 on the year.


HOCKEY EAST TOP PERFORMERS

Tyler Irvine, MC (Sr., F; Livonia, Mich.) The senior extended his point streak to four games when he had the icebreaker against Union Friday night. His seventh goal of the season set a career high with still half the season to play. His four-game point streak is also the third such streak of his Warrior career.

Zach Solow, NU (Jr., F; Naples, Fla.) Dished out three assists in a 6-3 win over Dartmouth on Friday. All three helpers came on the power play, moving the Naples, Fla. native to second in the conference in power-play points with 12. Additionally, the junior posted a season high in points with his three assists and posted his first three-assist game since the 2017-18 season. With his three point outing, the junior extended his current point streak to seven games.

Ryan Shea, NU (Sr., D; Milton, Mass.) Extended his point-streak to nine games in the Huskies 6-3 win over Dartmouth, registering a power-play goal and tallying an assist in the non-conference clash, including his third game-winning goal of the season. With his multi-point outing, the Milton, Mass. native also extended his current active assist streak to nine straight games and recorded his fourth multi-point game of the year. The senior is now ranked third in the conference in power-play points, tied for third in assist scoring, second in defenseman scoring, and tied for first in game-winning goals.
