HOCKEY EAST HEADLINES
#13 Northeastern swept a league set against Maine at Matthews Arena, picking up four crucial points in league play to sit just one point out of first place in the Army ROTC Hockey East Standings. Tyler Madden (Deerfield Beach, Fla.) scored a hat trick in Friday's 4-2 win and the sophomore forward is now tied for the NCAA lead in goal scoring with 11.
Providence took a 1-0-1 record over UConn to vault into first place in the Army ROTC Hockey East Standings, sitting with 12 points with a record of 5-3-2 through 10 games. Sophomore classmates Jack Dugan (Rochester, N.Y.) and Tyce Thompson (Milford, Conn.) picked up three points each in the series and the duo sit first and second in the NCAA in overall scoring with 29 points (6g, 23a) and 22 points (11g, 11a), respectively.
Merrimack played some of its best hockey on the season to earn a point against the reigning Hockey East regular season champions #7 UMass. The Warriors came back to earn a 2-2 tie with just over two minutes left to play Friday night. Liam Dennison's (Manotick, Ont.) first career goal secured the point for Merrimack. The next night, Massachusetts scored twice in the final 4:33 to take a 3-2 win, including freshman Cal Kiefiuk's (Macomb, Mich.) game-winning goal with just 42 seconds remaining.
Boston University took a 1-0-1 mark against Vermont last weekend. In Friday's 3-0 win, junior blueliner David Farrance (Victor, N.Y.) picked up a pair of assists, and scored a goal on Saturday, to extend his point streak to seven games (7g, 5a). Graduate student Sam Tucker (Wilton, Conn.) stopped all 26 shots he faced to pick up second shutout of the season in Friday's 3-0 win and also record an assist. Vermont earned its first point in league play, skating to a 3-3 draw at Boston University on Saturday. Senior forward Thomas Beretta (King City, Ont.) dished out two assists in the tie, his first two points of the year.
New Hampshire sophomore Angus Crookshank (North Vancouver, B.C.) scored
his second overtime goal of the year on Saturday, pushing the Wildcats to a 3-2
victory over Michigan. It was UNH's fourth overtime win this year.

night in a 3-2 win over Maine
to secure the weekend sweep
and close out the home stand
with five points. Madden now

Mich.) scored twice in the
Minutemen's 3-2 win on the
road at Merrimack, capping
a three-point weekend for
UMass. Kiefiuk cut the deficit
in half at 2-1 with his first goal
of the contest coming in the
second period and later came
up with the game-winner with
less than a minute to go in
regulation as the Minutemen
completed the comeback
from down 2-0 to the Warriors.

weekend, picking up a pair
of assists Friday, scoring a
goal on Saturday to extend
his point streak to seven
games (7g, 5a), and blocking
four shots on the weekend.
Farrance now has 10 goals in
10 Hockey East games this
season, putting him tied for
fifth most goals in a single
season in league history
among defensemen and just
the third blueliner to hit double
digit goals since 2002-03.
HOCKEY EAST TOP PERFORMERS
Sami Tavernier, MC (Sr., F; Morzine, France) Dished out three assists to earn a point in league play against #7 UMass. He set up the game-tying goal on Friday night in Amherst in a 2-2 draw before having both primary assists in a 3-2 setback on Saturday.
Angus Crookshank, UNH (So., F; North Vancouver, B.C.) Scored two goals as the Wildcats defeated Michigan on Saturday, 3-2, in overtime. He tied the game at 1-1 in the second period before he netted his second overtime game winner of the season.
Chase Stevenson, UNH (Fr., F; West Kelowna, B.C.) Posted one goal and one assist for two points as UNH went 1-1-0 against Michigan. He scored his first collegiate goal in a 4-1 loss to the Wolverines on Friday and posted an assist on the game-winning overtime goal in Saturday's 2-1 win.
Aidan McDonough, NU (Fr., F; Milton, Mass.) In Friday's 5-2 win over Maine, McDonough tied for second on the Huskies in scoring with a goal and a pair of assists. The freshman's goal on Friday night marked his fourth power- play goal of the season, putting him first on the Huskies in power-play goals and tied for sixth in the nation.
