Sophomore forward Alex Carpenter had two goals and two assists for the Eagles

Chestnut Hill, Mass. - The #2 women's hockey team tallied three goals in the first period and never looked back en route to a 6-1 win over Connecticut on Saturday at Kelley Rink.

Alex Carpenter tallied two goals and two assists for the Eagles as the seven seniors were sent off with a win in their final regular season home game.

Corinne Boyles stopped 17 shots to improve to 18-3-0 this season while Sarah Moses stopped 42 shots in the loss to drop to 2-8-0.

The teams played an even 10 minutes as Ashley Motherwell's goal early on was waived off due to goaltender interference six minutes in. The Eagles continued to storm the Huskies end and they finally cashed in with three goals in the final 10 minutes of the first period.

Carpenter tallied her 24th and 25th goals of the season as she beat Huskies goaltender Sarah Moses on a wrister from the circle and on a wraparound at 15:07.

Senior Blake Bolden (6th) staked BC to a 3-0 lead at 16:51 with put home her own rebound after a feed from behind the net by Melissa Bizzari.

Despite outshooting the Huskies 16-3 in the second period, UConn got the lone goal as Michela Cava roofed a backhander over the glove of Boyles at 6:35.

The Eagles left no doubt in the third period as they tacked on three more goals to secure the win.

Jackie Young's first goal of the season came off a top corner blast from the point at 2:24. Emily Field (13th) one timed a cross crease pass from Carpenter on the power play at 11:44. Senior Kristina Brown notched her fifth goal of the season with an assist from Meghan Grieves and an assist by Elizabeth Olchowski, the senior's first career point, at the 14:36 mark to conclude the scoring.
