Senior forward Emma Clark picks up the game-winner in overtime for UNH

HANOVER, N.H. - Emma Clark (East Barre, Vt.) scored two goals, including the game-winning tally in overtime, to lead the University of New Hampshire women's ice hockey team to Sunday afternoon's 5-4 non-conference victory against intrastate rival Dartmouth College at Thompson Arena.

UNH opened its five-game road trip with its fifth consecutive win in the series against Dartmouth to improve to 4-4-2, while Dartmouth fell to 1-2-1.

In addition to Clark, whose two goals marked a personal best, Heather Kashman (Edmonton, Alberta) and Kayla Mork (Victoria, Minn.) recorded with multiple points with a goal and an assist apiece, and Bryanna Farris (Carleton Place, Ontario) tallied two assists. Jenn Gilligan (Maple Ridge, British Columbia) made nine of her 16 saves in the second period.

DC goaltender Katie Milligan made 24 saves, including five in OT.

Jenna Lascelle (Cornwall, Ontario), with the assistance of Kristina Lavoie (Fonthill, Ontario) and Arielle O'Neill (St. Catharines, Ontario), opened the game scoring at 10:20 of the first period.

The Big Green rallied to take a 2-1 lead into the first intermission - despite UNH's 8-4 shot advantage in the opening 20 minutes -- on goals by Sasha Nanji at 16:12 and Kelly Foley at 19:30. DC extended the advantage to two goals, 3-1, on Sally Komarek's power-play goal at 13:30 of the second stanza.

New Hampshire trimmed the deficit to 3-2 at 18:08 of the second period on Kashman's power-play goal, her third tally of the season. Kristine Horn (Utica, Mich.) and Nicole Gifford (Ennismore, Ontario) were credited with assists and it marked a team-best fifth assist of the season for Gifford.

Clark netted her first goal of the game at 9:52 of the third period to level the score, 3-3. Farris and Katie Brock (Marblehead, Mass.) set up the goal.

Dartmouth regained the lead, 4-3, at 11:36 when Foley potted her second goal of the game.

The 'Cats responded to forge the third tie of the game, 4-4. Kashman dumped the puck behind the Dartmouth net and Kayla Mork retrieved the pass, skated behind the net and then beat a sliding Milligan for the tying goal at 15:38.

UNH outshot the home team 3-0 the remainder of regulation but was denied each time by Milligan.

O'Neill, Brynja Bogan (Germantown, Md.) and Lascelle tested Milligan in the opening 98 seconds of overtime, but she turned aside all three shots. In the next 50 seconds, the 'Cats had a pair of shots blocked by Dartmouth skaters and Kashman was turned away by Milligan.

Clark would not be denied on UNH's next shot, however, and her goal at 3:02 lifted the 'Cats to victory. Mork found Clark on the left side of the crease, and the senior slipped the puck between Milligan and the pipe for the game winner. Farris was also credited with an assist.

New Hampshire returns to action Nov. 12 (3 p.m.) at Boston University. The Wildcats' next home game is Nov. 25 (7 p.m.) against the University of Maine.
