ST. CLOUD, Minn. - Dani Rylan's first Division 1 goal broke a 1-1 tie with 3:36 remaining in the third period to lead the No. 10 Huskies past St. Cloud State, 2-1, on Sunday afternoon to conclude the Easton Holiday Showcase.

Rylan now has seven points and ensured that a newcomer has scored a point in all but one Husky victory this season. Freshman Claire Santostefano and sophomore Siena Falino assisted on the game-winner. Falino had three assists over the weekend.

It is the second-straight game in which a Husky skater lit the lamp for the first time at the Division 1 level. Florence Schelling recorded a season-high 39 saves in the victory, her 10th win of the season.

After a scoreless first period, the Huskies (11-5-4, 3-3-3 Hockey East) scored just 10 seconds into the second stanza. Northeastern carried a power play over into the period and capitalized immediately when Alyssa Wohlfeiler notched her fourth goal of the season. Rachel Llanes added her seventh assist on Wohlfeiler's tally.

St. Cloud State (0-18-1, 0-13-1-1 WCHA) evened the score at the 7:58 mark of the third period when Molli Mott potted her third goal of the season.

The Huskies didn't allow a power play opportunity for the first time this season and only took one penalty all game.

The pair of Beanpot contests in February is the final non-conference games for the Huskies. Northeastern begins its long stretch of Hockey East contests on Sunday, Jan. 9 when the Huskies hit the road to take on New Hampshire. The puck is scheduled to drop at 2 p.m.
