AROUND HOCKEY EAST: The Vermont Catamounts earned a weekend split with #3 Clarkson, taking 3-2 win at home on Friday night, thanks in part to two goals from Alyssa Gorecki (Monee, Ill.) and 35 saves from Sydney Scobee (Minnetrista, Minn.) ... Maine earned five league points in three games last week, toppling Northeastern and UConn and drawing with #9 Providence. Tereza Vanisova (Strakonice, Czech Republic) racked up six points (1g, 5a) the three outings, including setting up the two game-winning goals. She now has 16 helpers on the year, second-most in the country ... #2 Boston College split a road series at #8 St. Lawrence that saw goaltender Katie Burt (Lynn, Mass.) earn her 100th career victory, becoming just the fourth NCAA women's goaltender to hit that milestone. She is 14 wins back of Minnesota's Noora Raty (114), the all-time wins leader ... Northeastern took a 1-1-1 record in league play on the weekend, including a shutout win over Merrimack on Friday. Rookie netminder Aerin Frankel (Briarcliff Manor, N.Y.) stopped 51 of 52 shots in two outings against the Warriors and became the first Husky goaltender to pitch a shutout in her first career start since the Hockey East era began in 2002 ... UConn's Natalie Snodgrass (Eagan, Minn.) potted three goals for the Huskies in a 0-1-1 weekend against BU and Maine ... New Hampshire welcomed #4 Colgate to Durham for a two-game set, dropping each of the outings.
