CAMBRIDGE, Mass. - The Women's Hockey East Association announced its 2016-17 all-star teams as voted by the league's nine head coaches Friday night at the conference's annual awards banquet ahead of the 15th Women's Hockey East Championship, March 4 and 5 at Walter Brown Arena on the campus of Boston University.

Two players were selected unanimously as 2016-17 Women's Hockey East First Team All-Stars, including Boston University junior forward Victoria Bach (Milton, Ont.) and Boston College junior defenseman Megan Keller (Farmington Hills, Mich.). First Team selections were rounded out by the Terriers' senior netminder Victoria Hanson (Stoughton, Mass.), New Hampshire junior defenseman Amy Schlagel (Blaine, Minn.), Northeastern junior forward McKenna Brand (Nevis, Minn.), and New Hampshire senior forward Jonna Curtis (Elk River, Minn.).
Comprising Women's Hockey East All-Star Second Team are Vermont senior goaltender Madison Litchfield (Williston, Vt.), Northeastern senior defenseman Heather Mottau (Milton, Mass.), Vermont junior defenseman Taylor Willard (Naperville, Ill.), Northeastern junior forward Denisa Krizova (Horni Cerekev, Czech Republic), Boston College sophomore forward Makenna Newkirk (Scottsdale, Ariz.) and Boston University graduate student Mary Parker (Milton, Mass.).
Recognized as Women's Hockey East All-Star Honorable Mentions were a pair of junior goaltenders in UConn's Annie Belanger (Sherbrooke, Ont.) and Boston College's Katie Burt (Lynn, Mass.), three defensemen in Providence rookie Whitney Dove (Port Moody, B.C.), Boston College junior Kali Flanagan (Burlington, Mass.), and Providence junior Kate Friesen (Altona, Man.), and three forwards in Boston College senior Andie Anastos (Farmington Hills, Mich.), Providence senior Cassidy Carels (Bruxelles, Man.), and Maine junior Brooke Stacey (Kahnawake, Que.)
The 15th annual Women's Hockey East Tournament championship wil l take place this weekend, Saturday, March 4, and Sunday, March 5, at Boston University's Walter Brown Are na. No. 1 Boston College will square off with No. 5 Vermont Saturday at 1:30 p.m., while No. 2 Northeastern and No. 3 Boston University take the ice at 4:30 p.m. The winners advance to Sunday's championship tilt at 1:30 p.m. Fans can purchase tickets online at Ticketmaster.com or by calling 800-745-3000.
