Merrimack vs. Quinnipiac (Friendship Series in Belfast, Northern Ireland)

- Merrimack kicks off the New Year with a trip across the pond to Northern Ireland for the second annual Friendship Series against Quinnipiac. The two teams have met three times since the 2016-17 season and the Warriors are unbeaten (1-0-2) against the Bobcats.

- In their most recent match up on Nov. 11, 2018, then-junior goaltender Léa-Kristine Demers (Repentigny, Que.) tallied her first career shutout, recording 30 saves in a 2-0 win.

- The last time the Merrimack took the ice was in New Hampshire on Dec. 7 against the Wildcats. The Warriors struck first with the only goal in the first period from junior forward Kate Bukolska (Prague, Czech Republic) and another in the second from freshman forward Katie Kaufman (Lake Elmo, Minn.). New Hampshire eventually netted four unanswered tallies and skated away with a 4-2 win.


#3 Northeastern vs. Colgate, vs. #1 Wisconsin or Robert Morris

- The #3 Northeastern Huskies travel to Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania this weekend for the inaugural Battle at the Burgh, featuring two of the nation's best programs. Saturday night the Huskies face Colgate in a fight for a spot in the title game against either #1 Wisconsin or host Robert Morris.

- The last time Northeastern faced Colgate was October 2018 for two games in Boston, resulting in a split weekend.

- The Huskies got a jump start to the second half of the season with a 4-2 win over Vermont on Monday as seen on NESN. Sophomore forward Alina Mueller (Winterthur, Switzerland) scored two goals, including the game winner, and Mia Brown (South Woodstock, Vt.) notched two assists.


#8 Boston University vs. Maine

- Maine travels to Boston to close out their regular season series with two games against #8 Boston University. The two programs met on Oct. 20 in Orono in a game that saw Terriers junior goaltender Corinne Schroeder (Elm Creek, Man.) stop 27 shots, including 16 in the final period of a 3-1 win.

- Boston University is on a five-game win streak dating back to Nov. 19, after a home-and-home sweep over rival #9 Boston College. Two tight games against the Eagles included a 21-game shutout from Schroeder in game one (W, 6-0) and a game-winning goal from senior forward Abby Cook (Kelowna, B.C.) in game two (W, 2-1).

- The last time Maine took the ice before the holidays was in Falmouth, Maine against Franklin Pierce on Dec. 14, a 5-1 victory that saw five different Maine players find the back of the net.


Holy Cross vs. UConn (home-and-home)

- Holy Cross and UConn face each other this weekend for a home-and-home series to close out their regular season match up. Earlier this season on Oct. 12, UConn took a road win over the Crusaders in a 2-0 shutout thanks to two goals in the second period from junior forward Morgan Wabick (Winnipeg, Man.) and junior forward Savannah Bouzide (Amherstburg, Ont.)

- Crusaders sophomore goaltender Jada Brenon (Pendleton, N.Y.) stopped 35 shots in the setback.

- UConn returns to the ice for the first time since a home-and-home series against Providence across the first weekend of December. In game one, the Huskies earned its third road shutout of the year with a 26-save performance from senior goaltender Morgan Fisher (Vernon, Conn.), including 17 in the third period. Back at home for game two, UConn struck first and held on to the lead until the third period when Providence forced the game into overtime and took an eventual 2-1 victory.


Providence at Vermont

- Providence hits the road and heads north this weekend to face Vermont for two games to finish off the regular season match up. The last time the two met was on Nov. 17 in Rhode Island, when Providence tied the game early in the third and got the game-winning goal from sophomore forward Sara Hjalmarsson (Bankeryd, Sweden) with just 16 seconds left on the clock.

- Dating back to the 2010-11 season, the Friars hold a winning record over the Catamounts by just one win (14-13-4) and the two are sitting neck-andneck at sixth and seventh place in the Army ROTC Hockey East Standings.

- Vermont's most recent outing came on Dec. 30 against #3 Northeastern. Catamounts sophomore defenseman Maude Poulin-Labelle (Sherbrook, Que.) tallied a goal and assist in that setback and is now tied for the most goals (9) of any defender in the country.

- Providence's last tilt was game two of a home-and-home series with UConn. Two senior defenseman assisted on each other's goals when Whitney Dove (Port Moody, B.C.) scored in the third to force the game into overtime followed by Avery Fransoo's (North Battleford, Sask.) game-winning-goal in a 2-1 victory.


New Hampshire at Penn State

- New Hampshire rides south to Pennsylvania this weekend to take on Penn State for two games. Since the 2013-14 season, the Wildcats have won three of the four games in which they have faced the Nittany Lions, dropping only the most recent match in 3-1 loss on Jan. 24, 2015.

- The Wildcats ended the first half of the season on a three-game win streak, beginning with a 3-1 win over then-#9 Harvard followed by a weekend sweep of Merrimack. The victories over the Warriors included a 6-0 shutout from sophomore goaltender Ava Boutilier (Charlottetown, P.E.I.)
