Nathan Gerbe and Brian Gibbons each post goal and two assists for Eagles

CHESTNUT HILL, Mass. - Junior forward Nathan Gerbe tallied one goal and two assists to lead Boston College to a 4-1 Hockey East win over Vermont before 4,208 fans in Kelley Rink.

The win was Boston College's sixth in its last seven games. Both Gerbe and freshman Brian Gibbons extended their scoring streaks to seven games. Gerbe has registered 12 goals and 11 assists in this stretch.

BC junior Brock Bradford contributed one goal and one assist in his first game back after suffering a broken bone in his left arm in the season opener against Michigan on Oct. 12.

BC senior Pat Gannon opened the scoring just 2:52 into the contest. Bradford doubled the margin - and provided the decisive goal - just 16 seconds into the second period.

Gerbe extended the Eagles' lead at 3:09 of the second period, and Gibbons made the score 4-0 at 7:48 of the third period.

Vermont got on the board on freshman Wahsontiio Stacey's goal at 8:16.

BC freshman John Muse made 23 saves to earn his ninth collegiate win. Vermont senior goalie Joe Fallon made 20 stops.

Game Notes: BC freshman forward Ryan Hayes (Syracuse, N.Y.) has left the team, according to head coach Jerry York ... with three points (1 goal, 2 assists), Nathan Gerbe has registered 97 points -- 53 goals and 44 assists -- in 98 career games ... BC improves to 19-8-3 in the all-time series against Vermont, including a 7-2-1 record as Hockey East opponents.
