Weekly Release: Boston University Wins Ninth Hockey East Tournament Title
Terriers Earn Bid into NCAA Tournament Alongside Northeastern, Providence

AROUND HOCKEY EAST: No. 4 Boston University (21-13-4, 12-8-4 HEA) earned its ninth Hockey East Tournament title on Saturday, topping No. 3 Providence (23-11-4, 13-7-4 HEA), 2-0, at the TD Garden. Jake Oettinger (Lakeville, Minn.) made 30 saves to pick up the first shutout in the Hockey East title game since 2014 and was named MVP of the tournament. Joining Oettinger on the Steve Nazro All-Tournament team were defensemen Chad Krys (Ridgefield, Conn.) and Jacob Bryson (London, Ont.) and forwards Jordan Greenway (Canton, N.Y.), Dylan Sikura (Aurora, Ont.) and Brandon Duhaime (Parkland, Fla.) ... Boston University earned Hockey East's automatic qualifier into the NCAA Tournament as league tournament champions and will face long-time rival Cornell in the Northeast Regional in Worcester, Massachusetts. Meanwhile, Providence and Northeastern will both compete for a chance to reach the Frozen Four through the East Regional in Bridgeport, Connecticut ... At Thursday's annual awards banquet, Northeastern's Adam Gaudette (Braintree, Mass.) was named Hockey East Player of the Year, the second consecutive Husky to be so honored, while Boston College's Jerry York and Logan Hutsko (Tampa, Fla.) were named Bauer Coach of the Year and Pro Ambitions Rookie of the Year, respectively.

He earned a 30-save shutout in the championship game, the first blank sheet in the title game since 2014. He posted a 1.84 GAA and .945 SV% in the tournament.

SHANE BOWERS - BOSTON UNIVERSITY

Shane Bowers (Halifax, N.S.) set up Friday night's game-winning goal in overtime for the Terriers, sending Boston University into the Hockey East championship game with a defeat of rival Boston College. He picked up four assists in the Hockey East Tournament, helping BU claim its ninth league crown in program history.

HOCKEY EAST WEEKLY TOP PERFORMERS

Joseph Woll, BC (So., G; St. Louis, Mo.) Stopped 41 shots in the Hockey East semifinal game against Boston University, backstopping the Eagles into overtime against rival Boston University.

Jordan Greenway, BU (Jr., F; Canton, N.Y.) Assisted on the game-winning goal for the Terriers in the Hockey East title game, extending his point streak to eight games (4g, 6a). He lead the Hockey East Tournament with six points (2g, 4a) and earned a place on the Steve Nazro All-Tournament Team.

Chad Krys, BU (So., D; Ridgefield, Conn.) Helped the Terriers claim their ninth Hockey East Tournament championship and an automatic bid into the NCAA Tournament. He scored one goal and added three assists in four games, helping Boston University lay claim to the Lamoriello Trophy and a spot on the Steve Nazro All-Tournament Team.

Dylan Sikura, NU (Sr., F; Aurora, Ont.) Earned a spot on the Steve Nazro All-Tournament Team on Saturday, having scored four goals in the postseason for the Huskies. His five points in three Hockey East Tournament games included a game-winning goal and a game-winning assist.

Jacob Bryson, PC (So., D; London, Ont.) Was named to the Steve Nazro All-Tournament Team after helping Providence advance to the Hockey East Championship game.

Brandon Duhaime, PC (So., F; Parkland, Fla.) Scored the overtime game-winning goal in the semifinals against Northeastern, sending Providence to its first Hockey East Tournament title game since 2001. He was named to the Steve Nazro All-Tournament Team for his efforts in the postseason, which including two goals and three assists.

Hayden Hawkey, PC (Jr., G; Parker, Colo.) Backstopped the Friars into the Hockey East title game for the first time since 2001, making 65 saves across the two games of championship weekend. He allowed just three goals to two of the most prolific offenses in Hockey East this season, including making 38 stops against Northeastern in the semifinals.
