Sikura Named Hockey East Player of the Month
Gildon Claims Top Rookie; Tirone Wins Best Goaltender Honors

Dylan Sikura ended the month of October leading all of Hockey East in scoring and ranking second in the NCAA with 14 points on six goals and eight assists in just seven games played. Sikura started the season on a six-game point streak, notching at least two points in each of the Huskies' opening six contests. He scored one game-winning goal (Oct. 7) and assisted on the decisive tally at UMass Lowell on Oct. 27.

Max Gildon has helped anchor a New Hampshire defense to a 5-1-1 start, including a 5-0-0 run to open the year, the Wildcat's best start in 24 seasons. Gildon is tied for the league lead with six goals, the most of any defenseman in the NCAA this year, and is second among league defensemen with eight points. He scored a hat trick in a 6-3 win over Colorado College on Oct. 21 and was named Pro Ambitions Rookie of the Week on Oct. 23.

Danny Tirone - New Hampshire

Danny Tirone started each of New Hampshire's seven contests in October, posting a 5-1-1 record overall and a 2-0-1 mark in Hockey East play to put the Wildcats at the top of the league table. He pitched a blank sheet on Oct. 13 in a 5-0 win against Colgate. Tirone was also named Hockey East Defensive Player of the Week on Oct. 9 for his performance in backstopping his team to a sweep of then-#5 UMass Lowell in the season's opening weekend. In that series, Tirone stopped 52 of 56 shots.
