WAKEFIELD, Mass. - The Hockey East Association unveiled the 2017-18 men's composite schedule today at the league's annual media day at TD Garden. Each of the 11 member institutions will play 22 league contests as well as several featured non-conference tilts and tournaments. A full schedule can be found by clicking here.
Hockey East teams begin play Saturday, September 30 when five schools play in exhibition contests and Boston University welcomes Union to Agganis Arena for the first regular-season game of the year. Regular season play begins for all other schools Friday, October 6, including two Hockey East conference games between UConn and Maine and New Hampshire and UMass Lowell.
Several special events highlight the season schedule in 2017-18, including the third iteration of Friendship Four Tournament. After UMass Lowell and Vermont captured the first two Belpot trophies, Maine and Providence will travel to Belfast, Northern Ireland over Thanksgiving weekend to compete to keep the brass cowbell in Hockey East. ECAC foes Clarkson and RPI will join the Black Bears and Friars overseas.
The Hockey East season will culminate at TD Garden once again, with the 34th annual Hockey East Tournament returning to the Garden ice March 16-17. Tickets for the conference championship will go on sale in October.
