#10 Providence vs. #12 Northeastern (home and home)

- #10 Providence and #12 Northeastern each have an opportunity on home ice this weekend as they face off in a Hockey East home-and-home series. The Friars swept the Huskies in two league meetings last year, skating to a 5-1 victory and earning a 3-0 shutout win.

- The Friars had nail-biter series with Boston University as the two teams skated to a Friday night draw, but held off a Terriers comeback for a 6-5 win on Saturday at home. Freshman defender Max Crozier (Calgary, Alta.), netted his first two career goals against the Terriers, including the eventual game winner in Saturday's win.

- Jack Dugan (Rochester, N.Y.) earned another nod as Hockey East Player of the Week by posting a league high of six points (6a) on the weekend. Dugan is currently the NCAA scoring leader with a total of five goals and 19 assists for 24 points in 10 games played.

- The Friars (3-2-1 HEA) and Huskies (2-2-1 HEA) are separated by just two points in the Army ROTC Hockey East Standings.

- Northeastern is coming off a three-point weekend where they were held to a draw with Merrimack on Friday night and were able to claim victory on Saturday on their home ice, 3-1.

- In their Saturday night win, the Huskies scored all three of their goals on power-plays. The first from Tyler Madden (Deerfield Beach, Fla.) and the game-winning pair from rookie Aidan McDonough (Milton, Mass.). Senior Ryan Shea (Milton, Mass) was named the PNC Bank First Star of the Game after assisting all three of the Huskies goals.


Vermont vs. #16 Boston College

- The Catamounts welcome the Eagles to Gutterson Fieldhouse for a two-game home stand over the weekend as they open their three-game regular season series. Kevin Sneddon's squad is looking for its first win over the maroon and gold since game two of the 2016 Hockey East Quarterfinals, a 4-2 Vermont win.

- Boston College Head Coach Jerry York will be behind the bench for the Eagles in both games in Vermont before traveling to Toronto, Ontario to be enshrined in the Hockey Hall of Fame on Monday. York, the all-time winningest coach in NCAA hockey history, is the first person to be inducted into the Hall solely for contributions to college hockey.

- Vermont has fresh legs for these two important conference games after enjoying a bye last weekend.

- The Eagles offense exploded to top UConn by a combined score of 11-1 last weekend. Junior, Aapeli Rasanen (Tampere, Finland) earned his first career hat-trick and added an assist in Saturday's 5-1 victory. Rookie Alex Newhook (St. John's, New.), netted two in Friday's 6-0 victory, recording his first multi-point game as an Eagle.

- Goaltender Spencer Knight (Darien, Conn.), posted an impressive weekend as well, with 46 saves on 47 shots, including a 30-save shutout on Friday, the second of his career.


UConn vs. #14 UMass Lowell (home and home)

- UConn and UMass Lowell face off in a home and home series to jump start their three-game regular season Hockey East series over the weekend. The River Hawks came out on top last November, defeating the Huskies, 5-2, and shutting them out, 3-0, to take a two-game series.

- UConn is in the middle of an eight-game stretch of games against Hockey East rivals, going 1-3-0 to date. Despite being swept by Boston College last weekend, UConn netminder, Tomas Vomacka (Trutnov, Czech Republic), had an impressive 70 saves in the two-game set. This included a 41-save game on Saturday night.

- River Hawk senior goaltender Tyler Wall's (Leamington, Ontario) hot-streak continues as he was named Hockey East Defensive Player of the Week for the third consecutive week on Monday. Wall made 68 saves on a total of 71 shots faced last weekend in a crucial three-point weekend against Maine. that came from the Black Bears of Maine.

- UML freshman Carl Berglund (Hammaro, Sweden) contributed three points (2g, 1a) to help UMass Lowell go 1-0-1 over Maine and retain first place in the Army ROTC Hockey East Standings.


Boston University vs. #5 Massachusetts (home and home)

- Boston University welcomes #5 Massachusetts to Agganis Arena on Friday night before traveling to Amherst on Saturday to close out the regular season series between the two teams. The Minutemen most recently swept the Terriers in 2018-19 en route to earning their first ever Hockey East regular season crown.

- The high-flying offenses of both teams were on display last year, as the two teams scored a total of 28 goals in two games. UMass won on aggregate, 11-7.

- The Minutemen dropped a lone contest at New Hampshire last Sunday, 3-1. Mitchell Chaffee (Rockford, Mich.) had the lone goal for UMass, but that wasn't enough hold back the Wildcats, despite out-shooting the home squad 13-3 in the third period.

- Boston University fought against then-#11 Providence last weekend, earning one point in the Army ROTC Hockey East Standings in a Friday night tie. • Junior defender David Farrance (Victory, N.Y.) enjoyed a career-high weekend with five goals and an assist for six points. This included two third-period goals on Friday night to bring the Terriers to a tie game and a hat-trick and one helper in Saturday night's loss.


Maine vs. New Hampshire

- The Black Bears are back on home ice as they continue in Hockey East play with a two-game home stand against long-time rival New Hampshire. The two teams faced off three times during the 2018-19 season, splitting the series evenly at 1-1-1. The lone game at Alfond Arena ended in a 4-4 overtime draw, while each team earned a victory at the Whittemore Center.

- This past weekend, Maine lined up against #14 UMass Lowell at the Tsongas Center in a battle for first place in the Army ROTC Hockey East Standings. They skated to a 1-1 tie Friday night and dropped to a 3-2 loss on Saturday. Senior forward Mitchell Fossier (Alpharetta, Ga.), contributed two goals to the weekend, one in each contest.

- New Hampshire had a one-game, one-win weekend last Sunday as the Wildcats defeated then-#2 UMass, 3-1. Two goals were scored on a power-play by the Wildcats within 13 seconds of each other, including a career-first from Ryan Verrier (Reading, Mass.), and the game-winner from veteran blueliner Max Gildon (Plano, Texas). Goaltender Mike Robinson (Bedford, N.H.) stopped 27 out of 28 shots.
