WORCESTER, Mass. - The Holy Cross women's hockey team fell to no. 9 Providence 4-1 Saturday afternoon at the Hart Center. Julia Pelletier made 43 saves and Kailey Langefels scored her first goal of the season, but it wasn't enough to beat out the Friars.
Providence struck first at the 6:19 mark of the first period on an unassisted goal by Maddy Coene, but the Crusaders would answer back shortly after. Langefels scored after crashing the net on a Sommer Ross shot when she secured the rebound and beat the goalie.
The Friars used three unanswered power play goals to retake and seal the lead, including two by Sara Hjalmarsson.
