WORCESTER, Mass. - The UConn women's hockey team (8-9-1) captured its third win in a row after sweeping Holy Cross with a 4-2 road victory at the Hart Center in Worcester.
Junior Danika Pasqua continued her torrid stretch of play with a pair of goals on Saturday night. The Langley, British Columbia native notched three goals in the series and has now scored five goals in the last four games.
Captain Natalie Snodgrass gave the Huskies the lead for good in the third period with her sixth goal of the year. The Eagan, Minn. native capitalized on a Crusader's turnover that she was able to collect, turn and fire a shot into the back of the net.
UConn trailed entering the second period, 1-0, but the Huskies were able to respond with Jada Habisch scoring her fifth goal of the season just over a minute into the period.
Pasqua followed with her first of the day at the 10:53 mark to give UConn its first lead of the day. Her second goal of the game was a power play goal, the first for the Huskies since notching a power play goal against Vermont on Jan. 9.
UConn wraps up the regular season next week and will await its opponent on Tuesday afternoon when the league announces the weekend slate. At the next home game, the Huskies will celebrate its three seniors; Savannah Bouzide, Shavonne Leacy and Emily Reid.
