Freshman goaltender Tia Chan stopped 20 shots and junior forward Danika Pasqua scored the game's only goal for the Huskies

STORRS, Conn. - The UConn women's hockey team (7-9-1) knocked off Holy Cross, 1-0, on Friday night at the Freitas Ice Forum.

The Huskies outshot the Crusafers 39-20 but were deadlocked 0-0 until Danika Pasqua scored 6:19 into the third period off a face off.

Senior Savannah Bouzide won the face off and the puck was tapped back to Pasqua by Morgan Wabick and the junior from Langley, British Columbia rifled a one-timer home to give UConn the lead, 1-0.

Pasqua has scored in back-to-back games and in three of the last four games.

That was all that UConn freshman goaltender Tia Chan would need. The Hamilton, Ontario native secured her third career shutout with 20 saves on the night.

Morgan Wabick led the way with seven shots on the evening while Jada Habisch contributed five.

The Huskies will go for a weekend sweep tomorrow in Worcester at 6 p.m. against the Crusaders.
