Senior forward Meghara McManus had two goals and an assist for the Wildcats

WORCESTER, Mass. - The Holy Cross women's hockey team lost to New Hampshire, 5-2, Saturday afternoon at the Hart Center Rink.

The Wildcats jumped out to an early lead and would hold on for the length of the game. They struck twice in the first period by two of the same goal scorers from yesterday's contest, Wenczkowski and McManus.

UNH would double its lead in the second period before the Crusaders answered with a goal by Antonia Matzka, her third of the season. Charlotte Abrecht recorded the assist on the play, picking up her first collegiate point. The Wildcats would score their fifth of the game with under a second left in the second frame.

Emma Lange added a second strike for Holy Cross late in the third, but it wasn't enough for the comeback.

Jada Brenon made 32 saves for the Crusaders and Carly Beniek blocked a game-high four shots.


UP NEXT:

Holy Cross will travel to Boston College next Friday, Jan. 31 for a 6 p.m. matchup.
