Senior goalie Carly Jackson made 28 saves for the Black Bears

WORCESTER, Mass. - The Holy Cross women's hockey team lost to Maine, 3-0, Saturday night at the Hart Center Rink.

The Crusaders again played a good opponent tough, limiting the Black Bears to one goal over the first two periods. Maine scored in the first, but then was outshot, 19-4 in the second by Holy Cross. The Black Bears would add two more in the final frame, with the last one coming with an empty net.

On the night, the Crusaders outshot Maine 28-21, and had the advantage on face offs as well, 26-18. Carlie Magier and Sommer Ross led the charge there, going 11-6 and 10-4 respectively in the circle.Jada Brenon made 18 saves in goal.


SCORING SUMMARY:

1-0 MAINE (1st, 7:53, EV): Liga Mijone opened the scoring with some help from Ally Johnson and Ebba Strandberg.

2-0 MAINE (3rd, 16:43, EV): Celine Tedenby doubled the Black Bears' lead late in the third.

3-0 MAINE (3rd, 19:22, EN): Miljone got her second when she dumped one in an empty net from distance.


UP NEXT:

Holy Cross will play a home-and-home with Merrimack next Thursday and Friday, Nov. 14 and 15, starting with a 7:05 p.m. matchup at the Hart Center on Thursday.
