WORCESTER, Mass. - The UConn women's hockey team bounced back from Friday nights setback, skating to a 2-0 shutout victory over Holy Cross Saturday night in Hockey East play. Juniors Savannah Bouzide and Morgan Wabick delivered UConn's strikes in the second period and sophomore netminder Samantha Carpentier-Yelle grabbed 19 saves to help the Huskies move to 3-1.

Following a scoreless opening period, UConn grabbed a 1-0 lead at the 6:34 mark of the second as Bouzide collected Viki Harkness' miss and pushed the puck past the pads of the Crusader goalie.

Wabick made it 2-0 at 17:58. The junior scooped up the puck, skated into the crease and slipped her shot past the glove of Jada Brennon to double the UConn lead.

The Huskies played stellar defense and Carpentier-Yelle made a dozen of her 19 saves throughout the final frame to preserve the shutout.
