Junior goaltender Aerin Frankel made 31 saves for the Huskies

CRANBERRY TOWNSHIP, Pa.- Lauren MacInnis scored the game-winner in the penalty shootout to send the No. 3 Northeastern women's hockey team past Colgate following a 1-1 tie. The Huskies will next face the winner of Robert Morris/Wisconsin in the Battle at the Burgh Championship game on Sunday, Jan. 5 at 5 p.m.

Mia Brown put Northeastern (15-2-1, 12-2-0 HEAW) ahead 1-0 early in the first period, as the Huskies maintained a shutout until Colgate (9-8-4, 3-4-1 ECAC) snuck one in at the 16:52 mark in the third period.

The two teams would then head to overtime, and then a penalty shootout. Chloe Aurard and MacInnis both converted their chances, and Aerin Frankel made two saves against Colgate. Frankel finished the game with 31 saves and Northeastern held the 35-32 advantage in shots on goal.
