ORONO, Maine - The University of Maine Women's Ice Hockey Team fell to the University of Boston Sunday afternoon, 3-1.

The first period got off in a hurry for the Terriers, as only 1:06 into the period, Kristina Schuler scored her first of the season, coming off of Nara Elia's feed from Breanna Scarpaci. Maine would struggle to find their footing in the first, only getting three shots on goal all period.

The Black Bears would find life in the second period. After giving up a power play goal to Kaleigh Donnelly, the Black Bears would find the back of the net. Tereza Vanisova got the deflected pass off of the stick of Brittany Colton, who received the pass from Taylor Leech, to score her fourth goal of the season.

The third period was as close as they get, as the Black Bears nearly scored on multiple occasions, making Corinne Schroeder have some good saves down the stretch. Schroeder ended up with 27 saves. The Terriers would end up netting an empty net goal with only a 1:15 on the clock, sealing their victory.

Carly Jackson was big in net for the Black Bears, complying 24 saves in the game. Maine would also outshoot the Terriers, 28-27, while narrowly losing the face off battle, 28-29.
