STORRS, Conn. - The UConn women's hockey team fell to No. 6 Boston College, 2-1, Saturday afternoon at the Freitas Ice Forum in the final game of the 2019-20 regular season series between the two schools. The loss snaps the team's five-game unbeaten streak and drops the Huskies to 8-5-1 (5-3-1 Hockey East) on the year.

Sophomore Danika Pasqua scored the lone UConn goal of the afternoon while netminder Morgan Fisher made 28 saves in the defeat.

The Eagles struck for the game's first goal at the 6:10 mark of the first period. Cayla Barnes kept the puck in at the blue line, skated through the slot before toe-dragging and firing a shot inside the left post for a 1-0 lead.

UConn answered the bell less than a minute into the second frame. Camryn Wong pitchforked the puck down the ice towards classmate Danielle Fox, who reached the puck just before icing. Fox collected the puck and delivered a centering pass to Pasqua, who was trailing the play, and the sophomore finished from the top of the crease to tie the game 1-1.

The Huskies and Eagles battled throughout the final period as both teams looked to grab the lead - Boston College kept the pressure on the UConn defense in the final period as they held a 17-6 shot advantage. The Huskies made defensive play after defensive play in the final period to keep the score leveled, but an unlucky bounce late in the period put the Eagles ahead.

BC's Kelly Browne lined a shot up from the slot that was saved by Fisher, but the rebound ricocheted out into the crease where Savannah Norcross cleaned up the rebound for a 2-1 lead at 18:49.

UConn searched for a quick score as they looked to force overtime, but the Huskies were unable to find the tying goal and Boston College escaped with the win.
