STORRS, Conn. - The UConn women's hockey team put together a complete performance to deal No. 5 Boston College (9-1-1, 8-1-1) its first loss of the season, with a 5-2 victory at Freitas Ice Forum on Saturday afternoon.

The Huskies (6-4, 3-2) came out aggressive with junior Taylor Wabick putting the Huskies on the board 55 seconds into the contest. It was the first of the year for Taylor.

Her twin sister, Morgan, answered midway through the period to extend the UConn lead to 2-0. Senior Morgan Fisher was superb in net with 27 saves and stopped multiple breakaway shot attempts from the Eagles. The Huskies defense helped their goaltender with 20 blocked shots including a team-high five from Taylor Wabick.

After Boston College scored its first goal of the game at 17:19 in the first, the Huskies immediately responded with a tally from Viki Harkness with 14 seconds left in the frame. The Berwick, Ontario native would seal the game late in the third period with her second goal of the game.

The Huskies return to the ice on Friday, November 15 against Vermont at 6 p.m.
