PROVIDENCE, R.I. - The No. 8/10 Providence College women's hockey team held off a late Boston University rally to capture a 6-5 win at Schneider Arena on Saturday afternoon.

GAME FLOW & NOTES

- The Friars came out of the gate strong in the opening 20 minutes, out-shooting the Terriers by a 14-5 margin.

- Meaghan Rickard got things started just 1:13 in with her fourth goal of the season on a quick shot from the goal line that snuck through the pads of Schroeder.

- Avery Fransoo and Blair Parent combined for goals just 2:20 apart to put PC up 3-0 after 20 minutes of play.

- Victoria Bach countered for the Terriers with a pair of goals in the second period to make it a 3-2 Friars lead through 40 minutes.

- Rickard notched her second of the night in the third to put the Friars up 4-2, but BU's Nara Elia brought the visitors back within one just 1:05 later.

- Parent and Maureen Murphy cashed in with goals to give Providence a three-goal cushion with just under five minutes to play.

- The Terriers scored twice on the power play with a 6-on-4 advantage in the final minutes to cut the deficit to 6-5, but Madison Myers held strong in the final moments to secure the win for Providence.

- The Friars' streak of 27-consecutive penalty kills was snapped this afternoon on Victoria Bach's goal for BU in the second period.
