BOSTON - Behind points from 10 different players, the No. 12 Northeastern men's hockey team (11-5-2, 6-4-1 Hockey East) closed out the decade with a 6-4 win over Dartmouth (4-4-2, 4-2-1 ECAC) Saturday night at Matthews Arena.
Five different skaters - Aidan McDonough, John Picking, Matt Filipe, Ryan Shea and Tyler Madden - registered goals in the Huskies' non-conference clash with the Big Green. Leading the charge for Northeastern was freshman forward McDonough, who continued his power-play dominance with two extra-man tallies on the night. The Milton, Mass. native finished the night with a career and team high four points off his two power-play goals and two assists. Following closely behind, Solow dished out three assists in the victory for a season high in points. With the three-point performance, the junior forward extended his point streak to seven consecutive games.
The Huskies penalty unit remained unscathed through sixty minutes, shutting down all three Big Green extra-man opportunities. With the flawless performance, Northeastern registered their fourth consecutive contest without allowing a power-play goal.
Additionally, the Huskies finished the night three-for-six on the man-up chance, with a pair of goals from McDonough and a tally from Shea.
