POTSDAM, N.Y. - The No. 10/9 Providence College men's hockey team split their two-game road trip through North Country after a 4-0 setback at No. 12/10 Clarkson on Saturday night at Cheel Arena.

NOTES

- The Golden Knights bookended the opening period with goals in the first and last minutes. Grant Cooper and Devin Brosseau found the back of the net for Clarkson to give them a two-goal cushion after 20 minutes.

- The teams combined for 16 penalty minutes in the second period and the Golden Knights eventually extended their lead to 3-0 on Brosseau's second strike of the night on a 4-on-3 man-advantage.

- Clarkson extended their lead to 4-0 in the third on Brett Gervais' goal at the 3:45 mark.

- The Friars saw their seven-game winning streak on the road against non-league opponents snapped dating back to last season.

- Friar forward Erik Foley returned to the lineup after missing the previous two games. He had a game-high five shots on goal.

- Providence has not swept the St. Lawrence/Clarkson road trip since February of 1964.

- The Friars were shutout for the first time since last March's NCAA East Regional against Harvard.

- Freshman goaltender Gabe Mollot-Hill made his collegiate debut, making three saves in 15:59 of action in the third period.
