Senior goaltender Morgan Fisher made 30 saves for the Huskies

DURHAM, N.H. - The University of New Hampshire women's ice hockey team dropped the first of a two-game weekend series with the University of Connecticut by a score of 4-0 on Friday evening at the Whittemore Center Arena.

The Huskies tallied two first period goals and one each in the second and third, and led in the shot column for the first two periods, to tie the season series between the two teams at 1-1-0.

GAME RECAP

- The Huskies opened the scoring early 8:54 into the period on a breakaway where an initial bobbled pass was shot into the pads of goaltender Ava Boutilier (Charlottetown, Prince Edward Island), but UConn's Pasqua crashed the net and knocked home the rebound.

- UConn tallied a power play goal just over three minutes later 11:41 into the period off the stick of Crawley, who received a pass through the middle of the crease on a tick-tac-toe play.

- Crawley scored her second of the contest 6:14 into the second period to extend UConn's lead to 3-0 at the second intermission.

- Despite outshooting the Huskies 17-5 in the final frame, the Wildcats allowed an early goal 1:12 into the period to UConn's Natalie Snodgrass, resulting in the final score of 4-0.

- New Hampshire got a five-on-three opportunity late in the period but UConn was able to halt the UNH offense on the penalty kill.
