HAMILTON, N.Y. - The Holy Cross women's ice hockey team fell to Colgate, 4-1, Saturday afternoon at the Class of 1965 Arena.
The Crusaders kept the Raiders off the board in the first period, but were outshot 12-5 in the frame. Colgate broke through in the second, scoring twice. The Radiers would add two more in the third, but Holy Cross would get one back thanks to Rachel Moore and Carlie Magier. In goal, Jada Brenon made 40 saves.
1-0 COLG (2nd, 00:54, SH): On their penalty kill, the Raiders secured a loose puck right in front of the Crusader goal and buried it for the first goal of the game.
2-0 COLG (2nd, 9:54, EV): Noemi Neubauerova scored her first of the year with helpers from Coralie Larose and Allyson Simpson.
3-0 COLG (3rd, 8:41, EV): Larose scored Colgate's third goal for her second point of the night.
4-0 COLG (3rd, 15:21, EV): Serdachny scored her second goal of the game to put a cap on the Radiers' scoring.
4-1 HC (3rd, 18:34, EV): Magier slid one through the defense, across the face of the goal, to Moore who was waiting on the other side. She slotted it for the Crusaders' first of the season.
The Crusaders will host Penn State as their home opener next weekend on Friday, Sept. 27 and Saturday, Sept. 28.
