Junior goaltender Corinne Schroeder made 33 saves for the Terriers

BOSTON - Junior Jesse Compher scored two goals and junior Corinne Schroeder stopped all 33 shots she faced to lift the No. 8 Boston University women's ice hockey team to its second straight Beanpot title game with a 4-0 victory over Boston College on Tuesday night at Walter Brown Arena.

BU (19-6-3) will host No. 2/3 Northeastern next week in the championship contest, which will take place at 8 p.m. The Huskies defeated No. 10 Harvard, 3-1, in the first semifinal. BU bested Northeastern in a shootout during last year's semifinals.

The Terriers' held a 1-0 lead through two periods thanks to senior Abby Cook's goal early in the opening frame. BU then exploded for three goals in the final 20 minutes, including two by Compher in a span of 2:25 to give the Terriers a 3-0 lead just 3:18 into the period. Senior Deziray De Sousa capped the victory with an empty-netter at 18:07.

Schroeder shut out the Eagles for the second time this season thanks to an outstanding 33-save performance. She has allowed just one goal in her last three starts against the Eagles. Schroeder improved her save percentage to .943 and lowered her goals-against average to 1.50.

Both Terrier captains - redshirt senior Sammy Davis and senior Natasza Tarnowski - assisted on Cook's game-winner. Junior Nara Elia and sophomore Courtney Correia provided the helpers on Compher's first goal while junior Kristina Schuler had the lone assist on De Sousa's marker.

HOW IT HAPPENED

- Cook opened the scoring just 6:19 into the proceedings. Tarnowski and Davis cycled the puck to Cook at the top of the zone, and the senior defender fired a slap shot past Maddy McArthur (20 saves) for her eighth goal of the season.

- Schroeder made a sensational save on Hannah Bilka, the Eagles' leading point producer, on a point-blank chance halfway through the second stanza to keep BU ahead by a goal.

- Compher scored the first of her two third-period goals just 53 seconds into the frame. Elia skated into the BC zone with Compher on a 2-on-1 rush and patiently waited for the defender to move enough so that she could slide a pass to Compher for a tap-in finish.

- She followed by going top shelf just over two minutes later after sophomore Mackenna Parker forced a turnover in the neutral zone.

- De Sousa iced the game with an empy-netter with 1:53 left to play.
