Holy Cross Shut Out By Brown, 4-0

WORCESTER, Mass. - The Holy Cross women's ice hockey team fell in its home opener, 4-0, to Brown University Saturday night.

The Crusaders may have outshot the Bears, 32-27, but they just weren't able to get any to go. Brown's Lizzy Gross recorded the first hat trick of the Bear's season and Shay Maloney picked up three assists.

HOW IT HAPPENED

1-0 (1st, 11:15, PP): The Bears opened the scoring halfway through the first period when Maloney and Gross connected to put Brown up.

2-0 (1st, 17:07, EV): Bridget Carey was the other Bear to score on the night and she did so here with a shot that somehow squeezed through.

3-0 (2nd, 4:59, EV): Gross got her second of the night with the help coming again from Maloney.

4-0 (3rd, 4:39, EV): Gross completed the hat trick, this time, unassisted to wrap the game up or the Bears.
