GAME FLOW & NOTES

- Maureen Murphy got the Friars on the board early in the first period. Rachel Rockwell (Broadview Heights, Ohio) broke up the play in the neutral zone. Cassidy MacPherson (Oakville, Ontario) fed the puck to Murphy on the 2-on-1 and she roofed it past Corinne Schroeder.

- Madison Sansone (Lockport, N.Y.) then increased Providence's lead with a power play goal at the 9:43 mark of the first. Blair Parent (Blaine, Minn.) knocked the puck to Brooke Boquist (Thunder Bay, Ontario) who slid a cross-ice pass to Sansone for the one-timer.

- BU cut into Providence's lead with a power-play goal at the midpoint of the second. Deziray De Sousa played a nice pass directly to the stick of Nataszia Tarnowski and she was able to deflect it in from the top of the crease.

- The Friars were awarded 1:12 of 5-on-3 time with just over four minutes remaining in the second. Boquist made the opportunity count, scoring on a scramble in front at the 16:43 mark. Christina Putigna (Grimsby, Ontario) and Whitney Dove (Port Moody, British Columbia) earned the assists.

- The third period featured back-and-forth action with five goals scored. First, Murphy extended the lead to 4-1 with a nifty backhander from in front. Her goal 8:59 into the third was unassisted.

- BU responded with a breakaway goal from Victoria Bach. Rebecca Leslie and Abbey Stanley assisted her 25th of the year at the 13:23 mark.

- The Terriers pulled Schroeder with over three minutes remaining in an attempt to equalize. Parent was able to find the empty net after a BU turnover to make the score 5-3.

- Less than a minute later, Leslie struck with a goal of her own. This time, Bach picked up the assist in addition to teammate Reagan Rust.

- BU pulled Schroeder again late in the period, and this time Murphy was able to find the empty net. The freshman's goal with 15 seconds left made for her first career hat trick.
