SYRACUSE, N.Y. - The second-ranked Boston College women's hockey team used a three-goal second period to overcome a two-goal deficit and claim a 4-3 win at Syracuse on Saturday afternoon and remain undefeated on the season.

Four players notched two-point days - Caitrin Lonergan, Toni Ann Miano, Makenna Newkirk and Daryl Watts - as Boston College (8-0-1) earned its 400th win in program history.

Miano's game-winning goal at 15:44 of the second period came just 1:04 after Lonergan tied the game. Both goals were on the power play.

Watts started BC's comeback with her goal with under two minutes to play in the first after Syracuse (1-7-1) staked a 2-0 lead. After the Orange reclaimed a two-goal edge at 4:40 of the second, Molly Slowe's first career goal just 14 seconds later started BC's march back.

With 24 saves, Katie Burt earned her 99th career win and moved into a tie for fourth place on the NCAA career list.

The Eagles return to the ice tomorrow, Friday, Nov. 10, when the team travels to face No. 7 St. Lawrence in the first of a two-game series at Appleton Arena. Faceoff is set for 6 p.m. on Friday, before the second game is set for 2 p.m. on Saturday, Nov. 11. The games will be streamed lived at saintsathletics.com.

HOW IT HAPPENED

1st, 3:30 | SU GOAL, 0-1 - Katie Burt covered the initial Syracuse shot from in close, but the referee did not blow the play dead, and two Syracuse players crashed into her, uncovering the puck by the butt end of her stick and allowing Stephanie Grossi to push both it and Burt into the net for an early 1-0 lead.

1st, 9:59 | SU GOAL, 0-2 - Kristen Siermachesky banked a clearance pass off the boards in the Orange defensive end with Savannah Rennie skating onto it in the neutral zone behind the Eagles' defense. Rennie had a one-on-one with Burt from the blue line, and put a snapshot on that found space behind Burt for a 2-0 lead.

1st, 18:25 | BC GOAL, 1-2 - Bridget McCarthy and Makenna Newkirk battled to keep the puck in the SU zone near the point, and McCarthy was able to poke it down low to Daryl Watts, who was on the faceoff circle for a quick, off-balance release. Her shot clipped the crossbar and bounced down in behind Abbey Miller

2nd, 4:40 | SU GOAL, 1-3 - Rennie broke in on a 2-on-1 and Burt made the big initial save on her shot, but the rebound kicked way out to the high slot where Lindsay Eastwood sent a risingf shot through traffic to reclaim a two-goal lead for the Orange.

2nd, 4:54 | BC GOAL, 2-3 - Off the ensuing faceoff following Eastwood's goal, Grace Bizal played the puck ahead to Maegan Beres. She broke into the zone, cut around a defender and got a shot on, but the puck skipped through the crease and in off Molly Slowe's skate as she crashed the net. Her first career goal brought the Eagles back within one just 14 seconds after the SU goal.

2nd, 14:39 | BC GOAL, 3-3 (PPG) - With the Eagles on the power play, Watts picked up a rebound behind the goal and played it Makenna Newkirk wide on the other side of the goal line. Newkirk then laid it off to Caitrin Lonergan at the half boards, and she ripped a shot from the dot that beat Miller on her stick side to pull BC even.

2nd, 15:44 | BC GOAL, 4-3 (PPG) - Again on the power play, Toni Ann Miano worked the puck at the center point and found Newkirk on the half boards cutting in. Newkirk dumped a pass to Lonergan below the goal line, who then fed Miano coming across to the far point. Miano took the pass and snapped off a shot from the top edge of the circle to put BC on top for good, just over a minute after the game-tying goal.

3rd, 2:49 | BC GOAL WAIVED OFF - With the Eagles holding the one-goal lead, Grace Bizal kept the puck in at the point and threw a shot in that fluttered in high as Kenzie Kent cut across the slot. Kent got her stick on the puck coming in from behind her and swatted it in past Miller, but the referee reviewed the goal and waived it off for a high stick.
